You all are far too kind! This forum is what it is because if you all. Playing and simple, just a fact. I changed the logo last night- just straightened a couple lines here and there and also added some smoke. Our Facebook and Twitter pages got a nice refresh as well.9 points

Hi all!! Just popping in real quick to say Hi!!! and let you all know I'm still chugging along. Haven't had a smoke in 5 months!!! I do think about smoking a lot.... and wanting to smoke... but I'm not irritable or anything... just would like one... similar to the yearning for a pudding pop..... nothing too intense... just a mild nag. But I got this.8 points

Congratulations @beazel for being smoke free for two whole years! Well done to the lovely lady from Pandora (and no people she does not live in a box). Your posts are an inspiration to many and even though you don't pop in often anymore we miss you and you are always welcome. We hope the 2nd year was much easier than the first and you are enjoying your wonderful smoke free life. We would love if you could pop in with an update and let us know how you are celebrating your second year of freedom.7 points

One of the things I adore about MQ is how humble he is. This forum is a big deal but his happiness seems to come purely from the knowledge it is helping people. He clearly pays out of his own pocket and that in itself shows how selfless he is. The Moderators and Rixcz mix in and I have never once seen them swoop in to remind us of who they are. They keep us in check but in a very discreet way. Finally the members are the most caring and sincere people I have met. People invest their time to ensure we all experience the goal here which is to quit smoking. They cheer you on, pick you up when you stumble and never give up on anyone who wants to feel that freedom. I love this place and I genuinely love all the people I meet here. You are never alone here7 points

Yes! Don't listen to him. He knows nothing about quitting is my guess. Some people just look at the negative side of everything. If he's a smoker, I'm betting he wants to quit too and is jealous that you are brave enough to do it before he does.. You are taking a positive step - not a negative one. Let him be the one to eat crow at the end of the day6 points

Maryland Quitter and Rixcz, Jenny Babs, Nicole and Doreen. Thank you for all you have done. You have truly given me an opportunity to change my life. I so admire your dedication and time that it took to put this forum together and keeping it running. I will forever be one of you faithful followers. It is a wonderful feeling to watch people jump on the train and make it.6 points

^^^ This! Exchange emails with peeps you truly would not want to lose - just in case? But, as many here have said MQ is the driver with help from Rixcz. They are both to be commended for their contributions to countless quits. Without them, who knows if some of us would not have made it. I, and I'm sure many others, would be happy to make financial contributions to keep this place alive if that was ever an issue. This place is such a integral part of so many people's success. You can't put a dollar sing on that.6 points

OK, OK ..... here's the story. I had twin sisters and when I was a kid, my Mom used to have names for male and female private parts (down below). Male part was a "weenie" and female was a "betweenie", which I thought was a weird name. Never heard it since and haven't even thought of that in decades; until this thread came along - Lol. Anyway; thanks for the mammaries .... oops memories6 points

Scary news, Abby! Hope you will know more soon. Take care while waiting for news. Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy!! Long time favorite! "Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space." Oh and...6 points

Desperate1, I am so glad you are back and ready to quit again. You really can do this. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit. There is something special about this forum. They will guide you through the difficult days. Stay close to the forum, make that pledge not to smoke and hang tough. The first month is the most difficult but then it is a matter of changing your thinking. I promise you will be gaining much more than you are giving up.5 points

Well, first of all, he is a jerk (excuse me). Some people get joy out of making you feel smaller than you are. He should have been encouraging you for your efforts. Lilly don't let anyone bring you down. Remember, you are running that marathon and doing this for yourself and not anyone else. Stay focused on the forum. We know what you are experiencing. There is nothing wrong with using NRT to attain your goal. Hang tough. I know you will make it.5 points

This fabulous Train was created by our train driver Maryland Quitter.... He has never asked for any funding ...it is solely his .... He does have Rixcz...to help with the software to make sure it all updated. To run smoothly... I think it's pretty cool of him to help folks quit all over the world ,I am very grateful and happy to be sitting on the Train. I'm sure we don't just disappear....5 points

You might benefit from reading Allen Carr’s book the Easy Way to stop smoking. He advises you to continue to smoke as you read the book. Once you finish the book, that’s it. Couple his book with being active in a quit smoking forum is how I quit & have stayed quit. Set it your mind to quit and quit. Never look back. No matter what happens in life, smoking is not an option.5 points

Welcome aboard kallison, I'd be happy to set you a deadline. I pick March 18, 2019. I pick that day so you can start preparing. You see when I decided to quit I didn't set a deadline but I did start preparing by not smoking in places I normally smoked. That made it so much easier when I did quit because I didn't associate smoking with those areas anymore. Another thing I used after I quit was my air cigarette. Whenever a bad crave hit I just pretended I was holding an actual cigarette in my fingers and then went through the motions of "smoking" it. It did great at tricking my mind into thinking I was getting the real thing. Lastly I stayed glued to my forum everyday, all day. I really found that reading, supporting others, celebrating milestones and socializing kept my mind off my misery. You can do it and we'll help as much as we can5 points
