Hello everyone my name is mark i am new yo trying this online support thing while quitting. I am not sure the views of people on this forum but I chose to use NRT patches on this quit. I know that means im still addicted to nicotene but i want to give myself ample time away from the habit of smoking before the end of the patches to reprogram my thought pattern!! So far I just reached 30days without a cigarette or vape etc. Using the 21mg 24hour patches! Hopefully this is acceptable in this forum

Getting drunk at a party and drinking from the beer butt can...then smoking a cigarette to get rid of the taste. The dumbest thing smokers do is smoke and continue to smoke even against our primal urge for survival...

Almost a month already, that's awesome! If the tickets are too frustrating to mess with you could just go to your profile page and click edit profile and you'll see where you can put in your quit date. After all you did quit last month, not today so own that and be proud of yourself for it

Personal commitment Sierra! Make an absolute pact with yourself that smoking is no longer an option. It's completely off the table and the only path forward is one of abstinence from cigarettes and vape! We have all had to do the heavy lifting in breaking free and you will need to do the same. We are here to lend support and advice to help you along though and we are happy to do that!

I didn't smoke in the car so I was constantly thinking about a place to stop and have a smoke. It made long trips longer. Also I didn't enjoy going to movies much because I'd be craving a cig and wanting the movie to end so I could dash for the parking lot and fire one up.

What is a sticky????? Thank you to everyone for the welcome This seems like a great community and I have watched a few of those videos but sounds like there is a ton to explore on here in addition to the community as well

There are successful quitters here who quit with the patch, and they will have more tailored information for you. 30 days is a big accomplishment, now you know how powerful you are ! Learn all you can about nicotine addiction and you will be well armed for the next phase of your quit. I am glad you chose us, we are a great support system and there is all sorts of information on the site. Please avail yourself to all we have to offer.

WOO-HOO!! I've made it through the first 24 hours! ? It may seem odd but I was very concerned about making it through this first day more than the days to come. It wasn't fun by any stretch of the imagination but it wasn't as brutal as I had feared, Checking in here and reading all the advice and personal experiences helped immensely... Along with a lot of gum, hard candies,grape juice and deep breathing when the cravings got vicious. I'm kind of looking forward to going to sleep tonight because that's like an 8 hour vacation from the battle and it gets me that much further along from the pull of that last cancer stick.

Yeah what we use to do. It boggles the mind. I still own a 1968 Fender Telecaster Bass that I bought in 1968 at the ripe old age of 18 that has burn marks in the top of the neck where I use to put my lit cig between the headstock and the E string while I played. Sometimes, the butt was still there after I had put the bass in the case and woke up the next morning, sorry make that late afternoon, the next day and had went out.
