  4. Hi guys. I’m an old member of qsmb and not to sure what’s happened to it. Anyway I use to celebrate my quit every year by dropping in and letting everyone know I’m still ok. I’ve now stumbled across this forum and it seems to have all the right signals for helping people get there life back. so l thought I’d sign up and start afresh and hopefully give a bit of inspiration to anyone that’s just started there new journey. It’s funny but most things in my brain are forgotten in a few weeks but the day I gave up the weed I’ll never forget and that’s because my life changed for the better from that day on. I think back and can remember how hard it was and can only say that it does get better as time goes by and before you know it you look back like me and can’t believe it’s been 7 years. I’m sure that if I hadn’t given up when I did I wouldn’t be in the health I am in today that’s for sure. So all I can say is if your truly giving it ago then please hang in there and it will get better. I know everybody says that but it’s true and it does get better as every day passes. So good luck to everyone of you for starting this new chapter in your life and please keep the faith because it’s so worth it in the long run and I wish you all the luck in the world to crack it.

  6. Just returned from a 5 day Hunting trip, and I am still a non smoker ! There were some moments there I did want a puff, the cold of the Morning, the cold of the evening and when My hunt was successful. But all was good, getting easier to just tell myself no aint going to Happen. Still popping Ricolas, helps redirect the want. I AM ONE VERY HAPPY NON SMOKER !

  10. 200 lbs of free range, naturally feed, hormone and antibiotic free pork setting on ice waiting for me to process it, just over 6 hours back to work and the thrill of the hunt is starting to subside and the thought of getting all that meat cured, cut, seasoned and vacuummed packaged. With the Rush and adrinalene this has provided smoking hasn't been a thought since I have returned. Activity is a good thing when quiting and I still have a couple days of work yet to go. Promised to make Carnitis for my crew and a couple others, its going to be the good old fassioned Carnitis, pressure cooked with chilli seasonings until super tender, and here is the catch the Make it great a quick deep fry in super hot Real Lard, just until chrispy around the outside. put that with all the fixings and you have a meal to salivate for. Sounds great right ? it will take 60 to 90 days before the meat is ready to prepair in any form 60 to 90 DAYS. Looks like I am going to have one heck of a 3 month non-smoking celebration. What do you Think Domestic or Forien Beer ?

  18. Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I will get thru this. I was a little taken back at just how strong and overwhelming my yearning for a cigarette was/is after 3 months. I'm not cranky really that I can't have one..... not any more pissy.... not barking at people.... I am quite a bit more anxious however..... have that anxious feeling in my tummy all the time, because I feel like I am in a constant battle with my brain telling it I don't want to smoke. I feel my mind racing, but not really in any particular direction.... it's almost like I am going thru a tunnel at the speed of light... with tracers and passing sounds on both sides of me.... at the end of the tunnel is the end of my cravings..... the light if you will.... and I'm stuck right in the middle... just floating...while everything else keeps passing by.....

  19. Video discusses how nicotine addiction takes a toll on all users, even if they are lucky enough to never go on to develop any major medical problems associated with its use.

  23. Oh my gosh Doreen. I was just going to post how much I am struggling lately. Now you got me peeing my pants again. My husband has had rotator cuff surgery on both his shoulders. He has a hard time reaching his back pockets. I always tell him that when he gets old, I will get him his personal wiper ?. I will definitely have to share this with him. Thanks for making my day!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
