2 hours after the dr. Broke Kelli’s water, little (big) Drew entered the world! He was born at 12:38 am , weighed in at 9lb-6oz and 21 inches long! The labor was fast and furious, and once the dr. “nudged” him to get him going the right direction, everything went great! Mom and baby are both doing great and resting! Not sure if I can put a pic up from my phone, but if not, in the next few days when I get home , I will put enough up you will get tired of seeing them . ?9 points

@MLMR So glad you are seeing your doctor. You are still quite early in your quit. I am just a little ahead of you on the quit train and I also have had those roller coaster mood swings. I think our low self esteem has a lot to do with smoking and it really rears it's ugly head when we quit. I am finding the further away I get from smoking, my self esteem is growing. Remember it is not just a physical addiction, it is a mental addiction. Don 't isolate yourself sweetie. At least let us know how you are doing. We care and are here for you!5 points

Congratulations @Martian5 for being 9 months smoke free. Well done Martian5 for joining your fellow January travelers and being a member of the 75%er club. You are doing so well with your quit and you have a real sild base set up for the rest of your smoke free life. Thanks for everything you do around the boards to support everyone else. Its great being on this journey with you. So 3/4 of the way to your first year deserves a big reward, let us know how you celebrated.4 points

Awesome! If nicotine were a controlled substance, today I would have a clean pee-test.4 points

Awesome. Remember, after almost 6 weeks, you no longer have a physical addition, now it's all mental. There is no nicotine in your body, but your brain wants you to smoke because it thinks you will get the same satisfaction that you used to before you quit. Guess what? You won't. It will suck! All you will have is regret from throwing away the time you have already done and you are magically back at square 0. It's not worth it. Get mad: at the tobacco companies, at your brain, whatever it takes. Just don't do it. Be determined because you will have nothing except regret, regret, regret. You THINK you will get that Ahhhhhhh feeling, but you won't. Ask me how I know. I quit several times, once for 12 years, and went back. Never again.... On Friends, Chandler took a drag of a cigarette and said, "Oh my God." And he was hooked again. Just that easy.... But... it doesn't happen like that. You will say, "Yuk, this doesn't feel like it used to, as a matter of fact, it sucks, and I just blew lots of time and effort because I just re-introduced nicotine into my body." Crap, now I have to fight the physical addition all over again. Keep it going, and it gets easier. After 2 years, there are still times I think about smoking, but they are few and far between, and when I do think about it, I know it will never be the same, so why start?4 points

Thanks for all your wonderfull and sweet answers. Today I'll check in with my doctor, maybe discuss St. John's Worth with her. Gonna get my SAD lamp out of the cellar and use it daily again. I am worried about the moodswings. It is tempting to adress them to quitting, but it's more likely seasonal and/or something underlying that's triggered now I'm not able to puff it away anymore. Whatever they may be, it's important that I take action on them in time, that much I know. Writing here helps, but at the same time the exposure also triggers old mechanisms. So I am going to cut down on that a bit. As usual it's all about balance, I guess. Thanks again, you people are a special bunch.4 points

Sorry I missed your Sos ((MLMR!!)) More sorry that you are having a bad day...I think most people that smoke (drug users in general) have depression/anxiety; we abuse use to self medicate. I deal with all that seperate from my quit because there are people that have never used also dealing with the same and worse problems. This one statement made me smile ear to ear tho: Here's what I saw:4 points

Greeting Nopers... 4th October is World Animal Day.... a day to reflect on the impact our actions have on the welfare and lives of our non-human co-inhabitants on this earth. As non-smokers we are actual doing more for the animals than we did as smokers.. those disgusting butts we used to produce kill thousands of animals each year.... so KTQ and keep on NOPEing and do our bit to save the animals, however small it may seem. NOPE .... cos I choose to respect myself and my world.3 points

And, to redirect, I'll even tell you about when I peed my pants at lazer tag. I'll just start with I ate my weight in sushi that day before we went. We got to lazer tag and it was unusually busy. We finally got our game times and didn't have time to "relax" before really. Get our vest and gun, the lights go dim, the 3...2...I start feeling the fish farts bubbling. Great. I play anyway, just figuring I can release the pressure as we play and noone will know it was me (in a dark room and all) I'm in the maze area just letting my fish farts loose, feeling good, nobody is shooting me... "MOM! YOU FARTED! GROSS!" (My dear son has been following me) That place got so quiet you could hear a squirrel's fishy farts. In the dark, I hear my husband blurt out a laugh and the snort as he tried to suck it back in. "YOU'RE GROSS MOM!" *shoots me in the back 10 times* After the game, you go back to a very well lit room to turn in your stuff and I'm already way passed embarrassed because now the stinky lady has a face...my husband and son get there and my husband is laughing so hard. I'm embarrassed enough that I start getting the giggles too. Can't stop; I immediately cross my legs (I've had 4 kids so bladder control is about 50% on a good day) He finally gets out"Did you shit your pants?" This makes me even MORE embarrassed so I'm laughing harder...I'm trying to waddle to the door because I can feel it coming. At this point, I can't hold it, can't make it to the bathroom...I'm literally peeing my pants in front of 10 church youth kids. I couldn't stop the flow, it felt too good. I just ran out the front door. Husband and son came out 5 mins later and asked if they could play one more round. You know it, standing up at the booth p*ussy chip in the air!3 points

you're right. Friends don't do that. I'm not feigning innocence at all. I should have asked your permission and that's what I'm apologizing for. I'm sorry I invited a breach of your privacy. It was not my place to do so. One time we went to a mexican restraunt, my daughter doesn't pronounce the first letters of a word sometimes and if she get too excited she talks fast and the whole thing is hard to understand. Anyway, we sit and get chips and queso. She gets her chip and the next thing I hear, " MOM! IT'S *****! IT'S P*SSY CHEESE MOM! I LOOOOOOVE A P*SSY CHEESE!" *dying* "Yes, baby, it IS sssssspicy cheese." "YEAH, MOM! YOU LOVE IT P*SSY TOO?" *dead*3 points

True! I do not want to! I know it would be nasty, no thoughts of how it would be good, probably would get faint and puke. So don't know what the deal even was....left me drained... Earlier on in this quit I did want to smoke, I truly did....but didn't...unsure of the pull today..3 points
