  2. Most everybody complains about getting older. Sure, there's a few odd aches and pains that can't quite be explained. However, I'm finding more and more that I just don't give a damn about a lot of stuff that I used to get all wound up about. And the damns I do give are distributed far more judiciously now. The rest I put back for a rainy day. I wouldn't turn back time if I could.

  7. Ankush I’m very happy with my quit. I planned for it and waited until our family vacation was over. I didn’t think 7 grandkids 3 of ours kids and their spouses would be a good time to quit. We have a couple of grandsons that are hard to handle. Always into something lol. I started my Chantix the Monday we got back. So I was prepared for this quit. Hope you quit is going good.

  11. Since there's no celebrations today I thought I'd reach for one. So here's my stats" 2 Years, 6 Months quit as of today! $13,655.00 saved! 22,875 cigarettes not smoked! That last one is the most important to me!

  14. @Damona Stress can be a very powerful negative thing, there's no denying that. In fact, it can be the most powerful trigger for ex-smokers to go back to smoking, but that's just my opinion. We have to be wary of triggers caused by stress. Look at the positive though, you are back to your quit. Take @Sazerac's advice above ^^. Stay close to the board and talk to the people here. They will help. Here's hoping that you can pull off your quit, all the best!!!

  18. Michelle - I understand that junkie mentality all to well TRUST ME - just 1 and it will be ok, then 2 then a pack and back to full blown smoking, quitting, smoking UGH it's a vicious circle BTDT. It's denial ,denial, denial, no other way to put it. And you are right, it's something only YOU can have control over. There is no one there twisting your arm except your own mind. Step over to my thread for just a moment - hmm yup same threads/posts I used to avoid ALL THE TIME too because of that SAME denial and junkie mentality. Hopefully it will help you a bit or if nothing else scare the crap out of you. Either way the choice is always yours and I hope that you can stop this cycle for your own peace of mind. I'm finding we are all stronger then we think when it comes down to it.

  22. Michelle, you're not the first one to relapse time and time again and you won't be the last. I wish you would treat our board like one of your meetings. Instead of smoking, come here to a "meeting". Have the same mentality you did for your other addictions and I guarantee you will be successful. Is it frustrating watching you give up so easily, yes, but that doesn't mean we're giving up on you. You can succeed you just need to believe in yourself.

  25. Smoking and feeding your addiction only adds to whatever stress you are going through. I hope you honor yourself and a commitment to NOPE. It is the way to a successful quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
