  1. Arvo NOPErs.... speaking from the future where it is 2pm on Saturday 8th... can I just say welcome to Pretend to be a Time Traveller day.... yep that's right boys and girls... today you need to fire up you imaginations and pretend that you are a time traveller... have you gone backwards or have you gone forward... or have you come to visit us from another time... you could pretend to be from Elizabethan England and thus speaketh like so... or you could pretend to be visiting from a Nicotine future where one and all are shocked that there still exist those addicted to the drug. HMMMM what ever you do to celebrate just don't smoke, mmm kay? NOPE... because I am worth it... and so are you.

  3. Under... think about it, it makes better sense if you're trying to rip paper off the roll with one hand. I'm so glad we are exploring impactful topics like this one, instead of smoking. ?

  7. G’day My uncle lived in a house with his wife and 4 daughters. Massive toilet paper use and more often than not a higher than average sewer blockages.... His practical advise to me was to give Ever full roll a slight squash. Place the roll on a hard surface, gently with the the heel of the hand on the roll apply pressure till the carboard tube in the middle gets a more oval shape. Slows up the rotation and of course slows the consumption. He still left the seat in the up position every now and then, I think it was to remind the girls he still lived there..... Chris

  12. Sparky, great that you stopped smoking. You mentioned you felt like you were denying yourself some sense of pleasure -- look at that thought as rubbish. You are giving yourself more pleasure as the benefits of not smoking will begin to add up -- you are giving yourself a new sense of freedom, enjoy it!!!!

  14. G’day Having experience with a locally advanced agressive cancer that left no option but radical surgery it’s a bit diferent to think of a cancer that requires kinder treatments. Surgery, radiation and chemo, invasive and radical to the extreme. So if your able have treatments that are less a burden... Hang in there Chris

  16. My husband always leaves empty loo rolls instead of putting them in the wee bin which is in the bathroom!! Drives me potty. I've not voted as under, over, same, same.....

  17. Over, over, over. If it is under it can just unroll to the floor! My mother is OCD. You have to fold hers to a point when you are done using it.

  18. Make sure that you all vote for the under campaign. You know it makes sense.

  19. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'd go back to a time before my nan died and make sure I gave her a great big hug and tell her how much she was loved. I reckon I was too embarrassed to do that quite enough before we lost her late in my teens. ?

  20. Under, under, under. It is the only right way to do it. And please aesthetically pleasing? It is for wiping your backside. Much more control of the dispensing when it is under. No wonder you go through so much loo roll @Doreensfree.

  22. Make no mistake about it...I still think you're crazy as an outhouse rat. But it's the right kind of crazy. And let's be honest, you're not the only one riding this Train that has a screw loose. Thank you for the kind words. They were so true and frankly, I don't get complimented enough around here. Seriously though, you are one of the good ones Jo. I'm happy to see you on the lido deck and hope nothing but future success awaits you down the line. This Train ride got a whole lot more interesting when you jumped aboard. Three cheers for Ol' Ozzie Looney-Bird!

  24. I agree....what a great idea.... The amount of rolls we go through for two people is ridiculous...... But ...Ted has alot to do with this ..... Ok....I'm a over kind of girl....bugs me when I see it the other way....its the little things that are important.... Living with someone with Alzheimer's.... It looks like a stick of dynamite has been thrown in the bathroom....lol.... So how long I will care ...is the question....

  27. That there just sums it up... it was easier to hide than face things head on. Ok so I had a few bumps growing up, rough patches within a pretty amazing life.. and I honestly thought I had dealt with all those issues when I quit. But around the 3-6 month mark a lot of issues I thought I had dealt with came back up... my opinion of myself as I was establishing my non-smoking routines was evolving... it was like I had been viewing everything through a haze and suddenly it was clear. Read some of the things I wrote around the 4-5 month mark... I was the same, it was like an identity crisis but I do think its all part of the journey. You aren't going to smoke, but there are aspects of your life that are need to be faced that in the past you probably would have avoided dealing with fully by having a smoke and you are realising that... its a bit of a shock... but you know what its proof you are a sentient being... you are still growing, and evolving and learning and become a better version of you day by day. I am so proud of this post. It is full of hope and it is starting to be full of pride and there is a lightness returning to your perspective. You deserve every happiness and if it means making some changes to reach it then do that sweetie because as someone once told me you are worth it.

  28. We've hid behind that smoke screen so long that it's hard to figure things out as a non-smoker sometimes but we must learn to do that and as we do, we find it's not so bad. Facing things head on is a good thing! Get them over and done with then ..... move on Sometimes, I think maybe that's why I didn't quit sooner? Hiding behind the smoke-screen was much easier.

  29. I like gyms. I just have an aversion to 90% of the people in there. That goofball dropping the bar at the top of the deadlift. His idiot friend curling in the squat rack. There's some dipshit over there with two guys spotting him on a Smith Machine. Good call. If your schedule allows you to hit the gym during less crowded times, that's your best bet.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
