There's a joke about "carpet munching" to be made here. What am I doing right now: innocently walking away from an opportunity to make a dirty joke.4 points

You're quarantined. The gym is closed. What to do? Time to improvise and adapt. You have a wide array of exercise options that require no equipment and can be done anywhere. When you consider the different variations and progressions that can be done with these exercises, your options increase exponentially. There's a ton of information online concerning home workouts. I'll just include one article, one video, and one book suggestion. The article I'm linking to is: "The 42 best Bodyweight Exercises: The Ultimate Guide for Working Out Anywhere!" I chose this article because it not only provides numerous options for bodyweight workouts, but includes progressions for beginner to intermediate to advanced. Figure out where you are and get to work on getting better. https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/the-42-best-bodyweight-exercises-the-ultimate-guide-for-working-out-anywhere/ Speaking of progressions in bodyweight training, I suggest the book "Convict Conditioning" by Paul Wade. I'm not a fan of the whole convict shtick. Put off checking this book out because I thought it was some silly gimmick. Marketing gimmicks aside, this is a great book for those looking to get stronger without investing in a gym membership or home gym equipment. The six exercises recommended and the progressions from beginner to expert are outlined in detail. With time and a lot of sweat you can go from a couch potato to someone who's able to do pistol squats and one-armed pull-ups. And finally, the video. Not a lot of detail here, but gives you a good idea of how many options you have to get moving.3 points

Feeling odd and fine at the same time. Pretty sure lots of folks are in this space. Had some sleep with out OTC assistance the last few nights. Yay! As this recovery from 38 plus years of addiction sails along ... my gums and teeth are sensitive and sore in places. Hurray for blood flow!! Appreciate the opportunity to lavish some fabulous oral care on myself. I love my waterpik. Had allowed the illusion of no pain to be the belief "I have healthy gums and teeth"... sad laughter ... the lies I told myself as I sucked in the poisons. Kind of funny (no, definitely not funny) in some sick ways ... there was never any doubt or clarity around being an addict. I knew that from pretty much the beginning ... definitely by 16 years old, that I was addicted to cigarettes. In the last ten years, a beloved colleague of mine and I would announce to our team mates that we were headed to the backyard to kill ourselves one breath at time. He passed away from lung cancer about 4 years ago. Many years (could be a lifetime) of trauma, depression, anxiety and seriously poor at best coping skills are evolving into many years of inner peace, learning to love and healing. Will have to see how the scars of smoking continue to impact life and find ways to use them to celebrate FREEDOM. FREEDOM gratitude list deeply grateful that: each day begins differently now ... weird due to covid-19 situation, but not with the immediate lurching out the door to light up. Sometimes to smoke up to 3 cigarettes before feeling prepared to do other things. after eating I clean up and stow food without having to smoke first breathing without wheezing is calming no arranging the day around smoking- currently not much arranging the day period, but I look forward to going places and not needing to scout a place to smoke where I won't be seen I get to hangout on the QT with fun folks, play games and learn, and be with people my hands and feet seem warmer I do not spend tons of time worrying about cancer -- still may happen, but for now my mind is at peace around it choosing to be free from slavery of nicotine, may be a sign that I really am able to love myself somehow... a true miracle, if you knew me and how I have been people who love me are glad for me to be quit I am not triggered by other people smoking -- I hear them light up while we talk on the phone and have no craving, used to be an autopilot response when on the phone. Yay freedom! Thank you, thank you, thank you for quitting smoking, Darcy.3 points

If you have finished netflix, lol... Here is an awesome collection of music, film, spoken/written word, photographs, images. From anonymous home movies to classic films. The World's Libraries. Vintage radio/television. History. Concerts. I have leapt down this rabbit hole and stayed for undetermined lengths of time. Internet Archive: Digital Library3 points

We watched The Nice Guys tonight. I wouldn't describe it as a great movie, but definitely entertaining. A crime drama/black comedy that manages to avoid the cliches and tropes that are too common in other movies similar to this one. The kind of movie I would recommend with a "You'll like it...if you're into that kind of thing."3 points

I dig Allen's attack on addiction, the psychological bit. I am a big fan of Joel's. His emphasis on education and all his resources are excellent. Here's what he has to say about not being a smoker You Never Smoked, How Can You Know What I Am Going Through and Standard Reply For Allen Carr Comparisons3 points

I'm in the US and do like some English muffins but definitely agree that crumpets are a whole different world of deliciousness. Now I'm getting hungry and would really like one right now (hold the carpet, though).2 points

Struggling to explain the difference between an English muffin and a crumpet....um yeah-nah a crumpet is a crumpet....a crumpett is frucking awesome and an English muffin is craptastic....an English muffin is like a flat, denses, stale roll that you have to cut in half and toast...a crumpet is a golden disc (or square) of holy goodness...maybe it's like a cross between a pancake and a roll....it's kinda spongey I spose... It's bought 2/3 inch thick....it's more about how the stuff you put on it melts into the holes and sort of oozes out when you take a bite.2 points
