  1. Nope. Ofcourse I won't go to the gas station. This is time for bed, not nightly relapsing. Making the same choice as I did the other 186 days. Nope.

  3. Name: abbynormal AKA: abby Quit Date: 1 Jan 2019 About Me: I'm a huge nerd with a fondness for off-color humor. I think I'll fit right in here. ? Why I quit: When I think about why I quit, it all boils down to one thing--the cost. The cost to my health. The cost to my wallet. The cost to my relationships. Biggest bit of advice: Just one is one too many. DFS.

  6. Thanks for telling! Its nice to see new people hopping on and you really do yourself a favour by introducing yourself and reading about others who took control. What a great goal you have. I had a 3 hour walk along the beach just yesterday and it felt so good, no dizzyness whatsoever. Like @johnny5 said, reach out when you struggle so we can provide support. How are you today?

  12. Glad to hear your positive comments about your early quit ICH! I had a similar issue with the patch in my early quit. I forgot to put it on after my morning shower on day 3. When I realized it around noon that day I figured .... OK; let's see how long I can go because I wanted nicotine out of my system as soon as possible. For me. it worked I'm still not sure if that was the right decision or not but I did make it through. In the end, do what ever you have to in order to keep your quit going. In retrospect, it was totally worth the quit symptoms - bitchiness, sleep disruptions, and brain fog etc. That stuff doesn't last that long so it's an annoyance but very doable. Great job so far. Keep it going

  13. Wow, the people here are truly the greatest! Thank you for all the replies and advice. Well, I'm making it through another day and let me tell you, I eat CONSTANTLY, lol. I don't need the patch to avoid smoking, because I'm not willing to jeopardize my success at this point - I feel like I'll never smoke again. But I do love the patch because it controls my level of bitchiness. I haven't put it on yet today, and my rotten mood continues to escalate. But I'm going to try and stay off the patch, and just see if I can get the nicotine withdrawals over with. Thanks again for your replies...I'm so lucky having a line to other quitters!!!

  14. WIZZ FIZZ CREME EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooley Dooley world you are missing out my Northern Friends... this year Easter has bought with it a brand new experience in oral pleasure..... so growing up in Aussie one of the best treats around was a bag of Wizz Fizz... which is a little paper envelope full of white powdery sherbert and a little plastic shovel to scoop it out and eat it... seriously where else but Aus would parent give their kids little bags of white powder that was sure to make them hyperactive and slightly manic.... then they branched out into to lollypops.... yum, sooo yum.... but their newest contribution to the hyperactivity of Aussie kids is the Wizz Fizz Creme Egg.... so I got one, mainly cos it is in shiney orange foil and well it said Wizz Fizz, and omg it was frickin ah-may-zing.... blow you mind good.... white chocolatey cream, with bits of pop rocks (popping candy) and sherbert.... coated in the creamiest chocolate... OMG it was so frickin' awesome.... I think I'm gunna roll me kid for her one. @Cbdave and @Fab do yaselves a favour and get one of these delicious little beasts in ya mouth.... your taste buds will thank you..... and did you know... Wizz Fizz was invented in Melbourne.... where all the best Aussie shit comes from ? for you poor deprived non-Aussies... this is Wizz Fizz.... the rubber gloves don't make it look dodgy at all... and so me mates know what to look for down the shops.... this is a Wizz Fizz Creme Egg

  16. You might find this thread with our anecdotal evidence helpful First Week, Nicotine Free Congratulations to you for EVERY day, EVERY moment of your new FREEDOM ! After a few days, nicotine free you will start to feel SO much better but, don't jeopardize your quit. Stay with patches if patches are what you need. I say, you will feel SO much better because you will begin to stop the cycle of nicotine. There may be discomfort but, psychologically KNOWING you are free is a great feeling and this helps you through the hard slogs. Remember when you crave to think about H. A. L. T. Are you ? Hungry (thirsty) Angry (emotional) Lonesome (bored) Tired

  20. Maybe examine previous relapses to try to figure out what went wrong and make solid plans on how to avoid those pit falls next time. I think what made me hang on to my own quit was I kept wondering how soon I would die if I kept smoking. More than half way through life and I am in NO hurry, especially because where I am probably going after death, EVERYone smokes but there is not a single cigarette to be had.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
