My Big Announcement

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. I know I don't post much, but I do miss my QT family like crazy. I haven't announced this on Facebook yet, so please keep it to yourselves, lol.

As some of you may know, I have some health issues -- insulin resistance and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome being the two main concerns. In November 2014, I weighed over 300 pounds. Within the last year and a half, I have been working on bettering my health and have lost about 134 pounds. I take medication that regulates my insulin level. Overall, I feel like a new person and it's amazing.

Last week, I found out I was pregnant! My family doctor confirmed it with a blood test. I have another appointment with him next week to start prenatal care. I am excited, but also terrified as I am at higher risk of a miscarriage thanks to my health problems. After years of basically being told I may never have kids, I am ecstatic. The lifestyle change I decided to make was the best thing I have ever done for myself. So fingers crossed for a healthy, happy new QT baby. I am predicting a due date of November 2016, but I have no idea how far I am along, lol.

Bakon, if I gain 134 pounds during pregnancy, I am going to be very worried about giving birth, haha.

Aww leanna this has made my day, congratulations to you and Steve, such wonderful news xxx

Wow, what fantastic news!  I am so very excited for you!  Yippee!!!

I know how you are feeling right now also - hang in there, everything will be fine!

This is amazing news my friend, how utterly wonderful!!!

Another mama who they said couldn't who actually can  :D  Good for you!!

Quick note, don't let the doctors worry, they seem to love doing it - you just enjoy your pregnancy because the calmer you are, the happier your body is.

Here if you want to talk to someone who's been through it all.

Oh Leanna!!!!  You are the sweetest of the sweet around here!!!!  We are so happy for you!!!!

As far as health issues, I don't know too much about that but I have a friend who was having trouble with endometriosis (sp?) and having miscarriages, etc.  She changed stopped eating gluten and made some other diet changes.  She is now pregnant with her second baby.  She was just saying that she feels like she should start a blog or something because she feels like it is completely related to diet. Anyway - just thought I'd share.

WOW.

Congratulations Leanna.

That is what I call taking it on. Great work!
