I can only imagine what the injuries were snd what it would be like hearing the news. I am guessing you are thinking stuff like, "what does it even matter if I smoke? F*** it, I am messed up anyways." Here is why it DOES matter - So far you likely dodged a bullet by quitting tobacco. Would you really want to go back to smoking and at some point in the future have some doctor explain that you have a smoking related illness? You know, personally I hate those little bastards, the cigarettes that is. They just screw up our health and make us stink to high heaven. They suck. The nicodemon sees you are weak and is trying to worm his way back in during this crucial time. Tell it to go back to hell and starve. You do NOT want to say in the near future, "Well i have this and that injury and on top of that i started smoking again, i wish i had not". You are 8 1/2 months into your quit. There is no reason to pick it back up. none.7 points

All of the Summerbies have their 1/2 decade are coming up, which is amazing, isn't it?! I have to admit that I love seeing the newbie milestones... 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 4 months, 6 months, etc... these accomplishments are HUGE, perhaps dare I say even more huge than the 5 year mark? Definitely more huge IMO, you guys are the real MVPs...4 points

@notsmokinjo I do not... lol. I actually prefer pools to oceans because I know when I enter one I become part of the food chain (not necessarily at the top). ?4 points

^^^^ Thanks D! This is a great post and tells it like it is. Deal with what ever issues you may face in life without smoking. If you go back to smoking, you're just avoiding the issues you are facing. How is that helping you? Hugs and support to GITW and Jo who are both facing significant health issues during their quits. Huge respect to both4 points

My experience with smoking dreams, and it might be typical? - In the dream, smoking feels the way we imagine in waking life when we get hit with a crave. You know how we think it will be awesome (yet know better). In the dreams we are aware that we are relapsing but do not care, like it is no big deal. Upon wakening, there is worry and a rush of guilt like, "Did I give up my quit so easy? How could I be so stupid?" Once we wake enough to realize it was just a dream it is a relief. Strangely enough, it is the same kind of relief we felt as smokers when we lit up again. The good news though is that we do not have craves just because of a silly dream. So basically if someone does have a smoking dream, worry not because it won;t ruin your quit in any way.3 points

Time for a another update... Been up all night again....Tony,s health took a nose dive...his blood is not holding a steady rate of oxygen ,if fell to 80 /%. This causes all kinds of problems.. Which can lead to cardiac....confusion... Tired....feeling all together unwell He also is on the verge of any bout of phuomonia... So needs a whack of antibiotics.... Every time he gets phuomonia ,it weakens his lungs further.... Emphysema is not good in extreme weathers....so this spell of extreme heat will not help.... So after doctors advice....he was taken to hospital by ambulance... Just when you think..yep.... Things are pretty crap just now...we have been thrown a huge spanner in the works... He has recently been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia.... And is undergoing test to see exactly which part of the brain has been effected... We already more or less know....it's the I don't care about anything part...which is found in the frontal area....but tests will proove this... Of course this will progress too.... If any one here is pondering whether they are doing the right thing...and miss a smoke....please read this thread from the beginning.. It's not just your life that gets ruined...your partner and your family suffer too.... Until next time. KTQ....3 points

Dark (as pitch black if there was a blackout) about 6.15pm... Sunrise as in bright enough to turn your headlights off...7.30am ish. I din't think we had lightening bugs here (although we call them fireflies) but I was wrong, they have them in parts of NSW, QLD & NT. Down here though we have glow worms... they only exist in NZ & Australia and are really rare... they live in caves, I know of 3 caves in Victoria you can see them, there is a theme part for them in QLD I am pretty sure there are sights n NSW and Tassie and I know they have a big tourist cave for them in NZ... they aren't really worms, they are really gnat maggots but glow worms sounds so much cooler. Anyway these are the ones nearest me, just out of Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road..3 points

@reciprocity you got that Lido Deck spick and span for our very special 5 year celebration on the 7th??? I warned you it was going to be a bug couple of weeks so you best get Cheif Pierre to pull his finger out.... 7th has Nancy's 5 year woohoo to freedom, so that lido deck had better be shining cos Nancy's a classy chick not like some of us and she deserves the best. We also have a 5 year shout out for someone who used to be a regular, a couple of 2 year recliner parties, a massive 6 year celebration mid month, a 3 year drinks, another 5 year and a 4 year shout out and we bring home the month with a brand new inductee to the Lido Deck and a 2 year recliner party.... so best get your minions ready for some tidying up cos its one busy month. Clearly July is a very good month to quit.2 points
