Hi everyone! Some may remember me - I was here last May when the smoking forum I belong to disappeared for about a week. When it was up and running again I went back there, (two forums was just too much for me) - but I so much appreciated the kindness shown here at the Quit Train. Well it appears my forum has crashed and burned (hopefully not permanently), but honestly..... I'm worried. I hope it's ok for me to hang around the train station...I'll try not to cause any trouble. I'm close to 1 year quit, but I truly need a forum and especially the NOPE pledge. I enjoy celebrating other peoples anniversaries & hearing their stories and hopefully offering some support, if not inspiration. KTQ5 points

I went years without even thinking about eating brussles sprouts, now I crave them. A bit of olive oil, garlic, and some balsamic vinegar. Roast 'em up and enjoy.4 points

I blew a long quit over two years and it was over a very bad time in life and i had the F_IT mindset. The taste was terrible the first one but i kept doing it. I'm over two years again and i plan on using that relapse to making sure it never happens again, this is a very good read! Soon as i figure out this layout i'll update and post my quit date3 points

Did 20 minutes on the rower this morning and strength work (Front Squat, Bent Over Row, Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Kettlebell Swings). Finished up with some core work (Good Mornings, Roll Outs, Landmine Twists). Planning on getting in a good run tomorrow. Have a good weekend folks.3 points

I normally try to post up members quit milestone celebrations here but with a sudden influx of new people, it's gonna take me a bit to get up to speed on what your quit dates are and I don't want to miss anyone's celebration dates so please, please, please; if you have a milestone date coming up in the next few days just send me a PM to let me know? I'll try and integrate everyone into my dating system asap2 points

Funny thing, as it’s been from the beginning I really don’t crave a cigarette during a ping. I really don’t know what I crave. It’s just that my reward system is missing something without actually pinpointing exactly what it is. Damn addiction, it’s a crazy thing…Damn addiction, it’s a crazy thing…2 points

Hi & Welcome to ya. Or .... is it G'day? Either way join in with the insanity here as you see fit. We are all quitters just like all of you so a lot in common!2 points

Geminis know what they want. Once they make up their mind... well, what other options are there? Maybe they want THAT instead. It is so hard to decide. The best way to handle gemini is to give them unlimited selection but they can choose only one. I am Sagittarius. Let it rip.2 points

For what it's worth, a granola girl I dated for a bit in my younger days said that Geminis are the best partners. Of course things didn't work out between me and her, so perhaps her theory had some holes in it.2 points

Hi and Welcome I'm afraid of Brussell Sprouts because I had bad experiences with them in the past - lol. I don't care for cabbage either which is another issue probably but yes. I can appreciate that they do modify various foods over time. The good news is, all you brussell sprout eaters can have mine2 points

hi Brussell sprouts have been modified since I began smoking 30+ years ago they really used to be bitter but this bitterness has been bred out of them during the time I smoked and they are sweet now. I never realised when I smoked but now they taste nice.2 points

This has been a good 2 weeks for weight loss, I am down again, 19.6 lbs to go there is a light at the end of my tunnel. I walked on an incline for 45 then did squats, crunches, and lunge pulses etc....what is everyone else up to? Lisa2 points

One day, in the not too distant future, the triggers will go away and all that will remain is a beautiful day.1 point

Maybe you could use some of the money you saved by quitting to buy some socks and shoes. Saucony makes probably the best tennies/street shoes/whatever they are called now. Maybe count on $50 to $75 for a pair brand new. Seems like a lot of money but then two weeks worth of cigarettes (pack a day) costs about $75 anyways so there you go. Our weather though is a little cool, not bad but also soggy and cloudy. So it is no chore to go outside but not pleasurable either. As far as your desire to keep doing things you enjoyed smoke free, that shouldn't change. The biggest triggers will still make you want a cigarette but you then just ignore them best you can. Like I said in some other thread, for a real smoker there isn't much that Wasn't a trigger. Seems the most practical approach is to live life as before except not lighting up.1 point
