December 28, 20214 yr There you are, You are part of the reason I could not sleep. Know you are an early riser. I am sorry you don't feel better. I feel the same way a lot of the time, I think everyone does. Just pick up your bat and start swinging at the ball. You know you can hit it out of the park. We are on the field in the game, that is what matters.
December 28, 20214 yr @Kris Sorry you couldn't sleep! I'm not ready to play the ballgame. But I know if I give in I won't try again. Hanging by a thread.
December 28, 20214 yr @Linda I hope things are getting better for you. I know you can hold on. Whatever it is you are going through I'm praying resolves soon. The Lido Deck is so close for you.
December 28, 20214 yr Sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough couple of days @Linda. Praying that things will start looking up for you real soon. 🤗
December 28, 20214 yr @LindaHey-no preaching here but I find that GRATITUDE helps with any thoughts of resentment at the curveballs life throws at us. Its constant for everyone on this planet. None of us are getting out of it alive. I make lists, mental and in writing. Its a check: "Roof over head. Check. Food in fridge. Check. Gas in car. Check. I am ok. And it, whatever it is, is ok too." Sending love and prayers your way for peace. Oh and the most important thing-I DID NOT SMOKE TODAY.

Ray Wylie Hubbard wrote one of my favorite song lyrics of all-time: "And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, I have really good days."
March 1, 20224 yr Found out yesterday that my nephew got deployed to Europe. He's my sisters only kid and signed up to the Army just for this reason. She drove up to Georgia to give him a hug before he left 🤗 To all our military members and their family members, if you're getting deployed or already are, please stay safe and thank you for your service....
April 27, 20224 yr As many of you know, I have been blessed with 13 beautiful healthy grandchildren, over the last 14 years. On my Birthday, my only daughter surprised me by announcing that she is expecting her eighth baby, in early September. Erica is 44. I was surprised, pleased, and a bit worried, all at the same time. All of the genetic tests done were normal. However, yesterday she called me, crying hysterically, and explained that a detailed Ultrasound discovered that her baby boy has a severe heart defect. His ventricles are flipped, and his heart is on the wrong side of his chest. Doctors said he will be fine while in utero, but will require major open heart surgery, immediately after birth. Doctors also said, if all goes as planned, he can live a normal life, but he probably won’t be a professional athlete. I took that to mean, that he may have some activity limitations. Erica lives outside of Dallas, that happens to have one of the country’s best Children’s hospitals, where little Gabriel will be born, and have his surgery. Naturally, John and I will be there to help with all the other kids, while Mom and Dad are dealing with all of this. Erica said that as soon as she found all of this out, she “needed her Mom”. She literally called from the parking lot, after her appointment. Needless to say, I did my best to reassure her, and said of course I would be there to support her and her family. So, sometimes, life just sucks! Erica, her husband and I are all trying our best to put things in God’s hands, as this is a lot to take in. Kat

For your grandson, his mom and dad, you, and the whole family. It sounds like Gabriel is going to have a whole team of warriors backing him up in his fight though! And you! In the past year, you’ve quit smoking and have pushed yourself to become more physically fit which automatically strengthened your mental and emotional state. It seems you have been unknowingly preparing to assist your daughter when she is going to need you the most. Or it is what I see from the outside looking in. One thing is for sure, If this little tyke has your tenacity he will get through this and be a source of strength for others while he is at it. I pray. I have a prayer list. Your grandson and everyone involved are on it. My thoughts will be with you.
April 27, 20224 yr So sorry for this news news, @Katgirl. Your daughter - and little Gabriel - are so blessed to have you to share your love and strength and hope. Sending you (my equivalent of) prayers in the meantime.
April 27, 20224 yr I'm sorry Katgirl you have been given this sad news .... Sending Prayers and Hugs across the pond to All your wonderful family ....❤❤
April 28, 20224 yr My heart aches for your daughter and you during this unbearable difficult time. God has blessed you with this beautiful child Gabriel. God has also let you know that Gabriel is going to need extra care when he arrives. There are so many that are not prepared for a child that might need extra help when they arrive. You have been blessed, you are in place that can give him the care he needs from the moment of birth. Take refuge in that, you know this and will be well prepared to give him the best care after his birth. It will be hard and scary but God would not have sent him to you without much thought and love. He knows that this family has the strength and commitment to take care of this little one and give him the wonderful life he deserves. He will thrive and be a beacon of light each day he is on Earth. He may not be able to play sports, rough house and create mayhem at college. He may be able to do well in school, learn a second language, play an instrument, be captain of the debate team, be the class valedictorian. Think of the adventures, medical school, law school, movie star, famous singer, President of the United States and my favorite, adoring son and grandson. Just having an ordinary amazing life filled with family, love and proud of everything he accomplished with a hard start. Love to you and your daughter!!

Everyone got out safe so the evac plan worked. One of the blokes went back into the warehouse to get someone but everyone will be OK. Lucky.
May 13, 20224 yr So thankful you (and all) are ok, Jo. But what a frightening experience. Go hug your kid.
