You can do this.

As others have said read a lot, post a lot. You'll get lots of great support here and hopefully catch you around the boards.

Welcome Rose. Being a nonsmoker is awesome, I recommend it highly. :) And all the good peeps on this site can help you make it a permanent thing.

Welcome aboard Rose.  Go ahead and get comfortable and get to know  the site and people both will be a good resource.  Come here a lot to research and get support and I highly recommend doing the daily NOPE pledge, it has worked wonders for me.

Read all you can here...and watch the videos.... There is a ton of info to keep you going....

We have a daily NOPE....it's a promise to yourself ,not to take a puff that one day...

We quit one day at a time...stay close ..this train goes all the way to freedom ....

Welcome Rose.  Glad to have you aboard.  I hope you make this your forever quit.

Welcome aboard Rosewothorne! I'm curious as to how you are quitting ..... cold turkey, NRT products or prescription medications? Not that it matters - just curious. Also wondering if you used a support group like this one last time you quit. The support from other quitters can be a very useful and important tool in your quit journey.

As others have said already, educate yourself as much as possible about this addiction. That will go a long way in helping you to stay quit for good. Stay active here - it really does help keep you focused.

Hi Rosewothorne & welcome! So happy to have you here, hope you stick around!

Thanks all! I'm trying to keep a positive outlook on this whole thing and appreciate your feedback and inspiration. I am using Chantix to help with my quit and I did use a support group the last time I quit many years ago. It was very helpful to educate myself and read others' experience and ask for help when I need it. It was also good to be around people with similar situations. I was more a reader/stalker then and this time I think I'd like to be more vocal or active poster.

All the best... Rose
