  5. Always liked her dirty name, at least to me it meant something dirty.(if you spell it Jiller and make it a verb) I know she had a LOT of patience for the group. Really she was the moderator who put it out there. But maybe I got the name wrong. sad to see anyone leave especially an old friend. Even when they end up in a better place we hate change, resistance is not an option with death but we don’t have to like it. really can’t say I know much about her.Big ears and teeth from her picture. Or again maybe the rabbit was her favorite toy. Either way let’s assume she was cuddling and felt good as she was good to have responded to anything posted. so here is my poem copied from Google- think it fits here for this group as her writing with still be with us Don't cry for me now I have died, for I'm still here I'm by your side, My body's gone but my soul is here, please don't shed another tear, I am still here I'm all around, only my body lies in the ground.

  13. I'm gutted hearing this terrible news She was always so passionate about helping others rid themselves of this nasty addiction and she in fact did so much for others here. It is our collective great loss. R.I.P. dear Jillar. As Henry Van Dyke once penned ... Gone From My Sight I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying...

  30. Six weeks tonight, friends. Thanks Doreen, Reci, DB, garry, and all before, I appreciate your words of wisdom and empathy. I'm going through some serious f-ing Trials right now, and despite it I am keeping that demon-bitch Nicotine at arm's length. Believe it. I've been 10 years quit, boys. I know how it feels to be free. I've said to myself, "you've made it, dude. You've been a non-smoker for so long you could never dream of going back." Yet I willingly jumped back into that pit. Thank God I've lived six weeks free from nicotine. One less burden to bear. Stay strong, my friends.

  32. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement, gang. It's been a rough few days and today in particular I found myself craving a smoke more than once. I had to remind myself that it won't help my situation... especially after I've come so far. However you, me, we are suffering, putting nicotine into our bodies ultimately packs more suffering on top of what's already there... all we have to do is remember what it was like. Not that first exciting cigarette, but all the ones that follow... being completely addicted and dependent on getting that regular dose of nicotine. Being a slave to it. Remembering that state of existence keeps me resolute in maintaining my quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
