3 months today Still hanging on there despite some touchy situations that normally would have me reaching for a cigarette. I do believe today that there isn't just one cigarette, or puff even, and in very short order I would be back to my usual smoking behaviour if I believe the lie that I can "just have one". My apologies if I don't post here to often. There are folks here who do a far better job of sharing their experience and hope than I could just at this moment. I will though keep posting when I can and especially when I hit a target date if only to demonstrate to anyone who is struggling that if I can do it so can they . Many many thanks for all your support and kind words.7 points

Nice work Midmale. Sorting through the lies we told ourselves and accepting the truths we didn't necessarily want to hear is a major part of the process. Congratulations. You are building a rock-solid quit for yourself.4 points

HI! Please don't think that Chantix is your last chance at quitting. As long as you are still breathing you have a chance of quitting. I'm on my seventh quit this year and I'm not about to quit trying. Who knows, we might make it at some point! Don't give up on it! Take Care and Cheer Up!3 points

Congratulations on stopping smoking, Matthew! Definitely stay away from the drink if it makes you crave. I did early on. You know how alcohol ruins most people's good intentions. Not worth it! You're almost done with hell week, Matthew. Great going!2 points

Never give up...trying to give up ....!!!!!..... After smoking 52years....I finally did it ....and you can too.... We call Quitting ...A journey......there are alot of twists and turns along the way .... Try and turn all your negative feelings into positives ones ....it's all about getting it right in your head .. Eg...I miss Smoking !!!..negative .............I love being smoke free and healing all the damage done !!...positive. After all....What are you stopping doing ????? Killing your self very slowly ...your not even noticing .......until it's too late .... Upwards and Onwards .....2 points

Does it sound bad if I really want to be the one to fire her out of spite?2 points

No, I wouldn't pay for it! I found a link to it. Read it 3 times. From everything I'd heard about it, I thought I had missed something. Don't get me wrong, it's a good read for some extra motivation. He makes some very good points. But there is no magic trick there, you still have to quit for yourself by a comment made to yourself. Good Luck! I hope your quit is still going well!2 points

Wow @reciprocity, good thing you brought food with you! I thought our lockdown was bad but we at least always had restaurant take out and our grocery stores and pharmacy stores never closed either. Stay safe my friend1 point

To MarylandQuitter and Doreensfree; thanks for the response and the words of wisdom! Yes, my body is still mixed up and so is my fragile mind. Sometimes I feel like I’m babysitting myself. Lol. I guess that I am. I’m feeling better today and am very grateful for the help. I came very close to an SOS last night.1 point

From a post of yours from 9/19. You really enjoyed smoking. This is the big lie of being a nicotine addict. I too thought I enjoyed smoking. It wasn't until I was further along in my quit that I realized smoking made me feel horrible. After all, there was nothing enjoyable about sucking heat and poison into my lungs. "I enjoy smoking" is used to rationalize smoking. I know. I used to tell myself this.1 point

Thank you, Jillar. I want to keep my quit this time. I appreciate all the support.1 point

Your body will be going through a lot of changes in the coming days and weeks. All of them for the good in the end. I think you'll be quite pleased with the end result. Drink lots of water in the early days of your quit. It will help flush toxins from your body1 point

Hey midmale, seven weeks is great! Congratulations If you want even more inspiration why not create a ticker for your signature? I loved watching all the time, money and cigs NOT smoked add up. Plus it showed me what I was going to lose it I caved to a crave! https://www.quittrain.com/tickers/1 point

Hi and good morning all Well its 7 weeks today..feels like forever but i have learnt a lot in what also seems a short time, work that one out It impresses me cos I didnt think I could stay away from a smoke for 7 minutes! But i also know I can never be complacent. Still getting about 3 cravings a day, sometimes more but they dont seemto last as long or be as intense. Thanks for your messages of support and good wishes. I do pop in here pretty much every day to remind myself and refocus so your support means a lot1 point
