Jokes aside...I realize that it is highly unlikely that Riley will continue to hit a homerun once in every eight at bats for the duration of a season. Probably not going to continue to average 1.3 RBIs per game either. How long does the hot start continue? Who knows. Now...with those boring realistic expectations put aside...I'm ready to go ahead and declare Austin Riley a first-ballot Hall of Famer right now! Just like I did with Ronald Acuna Jr. last season.2 points

How do you know. Do you have the inside scoop. Gonna have to watch that and see his facial expressions. That cheesy smile has kind of drove me crazy. Amazing mind but all I could think was what it would be like to be married to him lol.2 points

Isn't it amazing that when you put a believe so strong into your mind you can achieve even the most impossible things ? All it took to me was the holy walk, anyone can have their holy walk in different ways as long as they persist unto believing it above all things.2 points

Hello everyone. Back in January of 2018 I put up my last post here at Quittrain. Here is a link to that post: https://www.quittrain.com/topic/9632-i-am-moving-on-from-the-board/?tab=comments#comment-235850 In that post I wrote: "I am going to leave my account open in the event people have questions or concerns that they feel I may be able to help with, they can write me through Quittrain's messaging system. This should cause no disruption on the board.” A few people have reached out to me since then through the messaging system and I was glad to be able to help them when I could. When anyone sent a message through the Quittrain messaging system I would get an email notification—allowing me to sign in to be able to respond. I would then generally sign in anonymously so as not to stir up any problems with the board and send out my replies. Recently though there has been two technical issues making it impossible for me to operate this way. The first is that it seems now that I cannot login anonymously on the board now. I see this issue has been discussed in the string Anonymous members no longer anonymous?. The second problem is discussed in the thread PM - Emails. I no longer get notified when people send me messages. I know that Maryland Quitter is trying to get these problems fixed but for now they are existing issues. Until these problems are resolved I won’t be logging in and thus won’t be seeing and obviously then not responding to messages. I just wanted to give members a heads up on this issue for I don’t want anyone writing me and thinking that I was ignoring their requests. I hope everyone is well. Joel1 point

I thought it was just $60 dollars away. Doesn't he still win $1,000 for coming in second? I just think it was too obvious that he did not win on purpose.1 point

Great work Ankush! Another month completed in your quit; congratulations! Those first months are not easy but you are doing all the right things to change your life for the better by fighting nicotine addiction and you are slowly gaining the upper hand on it. It's hard work so be sure to celebrate by treating yourself to something nice today. Rewards are important along the way. And, keep up the good work. It WILL be worth it1 point

Congrats Abby! 5 months is pretty substantial. Celebrate your additional milestone then dig in for the middle months of your first year. You have all the tools now so it just a matter of practising what you have already been doing. A strong foundation is the cornerstone of a life long quit. Hope you treat yourself today1 point

We all know the more known problems from years of smoking (Cancer, COPD, Heart problems and such) but their are some problems that are lesser known. Today I am going to the dentist to start fixing my mouth. Most of the problems are tied in with my smoking over those many years, something I really did not think about. For the past year it has been very difficult for me to eat and also a lot of pain. Now I have been dealing with COPD (at this point stage 1 and has done much better since quitting and not really advancing at this point) but now I have to deal with all these upcoming dental appointments to include 3 different appointments for oral surgery (first this morning) then several appointments to replace several missing teeth. I do not enjoy going to the dentist but most of all I do not enjoy what this will be doing to my wallet. At this point it is going to be close to $20,000.00 (there goes all the money I have been saving from my quitting). The main point here is not sympathy for me but to let others know to include those that are lurking and have yet to make the choice to quit is that you really need to understand everything that smoking cigarettes can do to you. It all sneaks up on you and will cost you both to health and to your wallet. I have done this to myself and I must take accountability for my actions but hopefully others will see this and do some serious thinking!!!!!!! Quit now so that you can live a better life in so many ways!!!!! Sorry about the long post but I get really anxious about going to the dentist, oh alright -- scared, and it is about an hour before I can take the sedative -- anyway good day to all.1 point
