  1. It's good though. If we type them out, we see how minimal they are and this will in turn help us to stop stressing about such insignificant issues, hehe.
  2. Sorry boys. I know this is all girlie and yuck. But here's my nail polish collection (well, part of it). I didn't even really wear nail polish until my mother-in-law started buying me bottles of it. All the boxes in the background that say O.P.I are all nail polish as well. Yeesh. Now I know where all my quit money disappeared to. There are more hanging around the apartment somewhere, but I'm lazy.
  3. I have to clean my apartment because the rental dudes are doing an inspection. FML...
  4. I only slept for 6 hours... sigh.
  5. Sounds very similar to my story. I was also sick. I knew about the forum, but didn't join until about 5 days into my quit. :) So I was almost a week in!
  6. Yay Jen! Congrats on your first year quit! You did it and I'm so very proud of you. :) Thanks for everything you do and thanks for being such an awesome person/friend. :D
  7. Yes you do. I would know, because my quit was on a whim. There was no planned date and time. I just quit cold turkey and never looked back. Now I'm almost two years into my quit! So yes, I believe you are doing everything necessary to stay quit. Believe in yourself that you can do this. Don't get tangled up in the thought of relapsing.
  8. Hey Trish: Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this. I haven't been around much lately. I'm gutted to hear about the relapse :(, but am glad you set a new quit date. Remember that smoking cannot benefit you in any way. Your junkie mind will try to convince you of such, but don't listen! Try to remember how you feel right now the next time you consider smoking. Do you want to go back to feeling the way you did? Honestly, the way I felt when I relapsed was far worse than any craving. Remember that all cravings pass in time. The temporary fix you get from smoking isn't worth the struggle. You can do this. I have faith! Please stay close to the board -- we've got your back. :) Big hugs.
  9. Aw Sarah. Big hugs! Hope you're feeling better. Quitting is not fun. In fact, sometimes it's downright miserable. However, nothing compares to how you'll feel later on. Trust me, it's worth it. Every tear, every bit of depression, all the anger... is worth the reward. Just keep on keeping on hun. The freedom you will eventually feel is amazing. ((((((More hugs))))))))
  10. Lol @ Rob. Gross, but true! Yup, I'm pretty sure I had this for a bit after I quit Marti. It's been a while, so I don't always remember what happened early on. I do recall some of the changes I had to go through to "cleanse myself." I think clearing your throat is your body's way of cleansing your lungs. It should go away soon. If it doesn't within 2-3 weeks, that's when I'd seek medical help. It may just be allergies at that point though.
  11. I do love my broccoli! Actually, I pretty much love every veggie except for zucchini. :) Your breakfast looks delicious Scott. Yum!
  12. Thanks for the update Jimmy! You are a great person. :)
  13. Needing sleep desperately, but am still in pain. I don't know what's wrong with me and I'm scared. :( I'm trying to stay away from Google. Wasn't there a thread about hypochondria recently?

Awww, thanks ((((Action)))), thanks ((((Jenny)))). Everyone is so sweet. :) I am doing better now. The pain isn't as severe. I haven't napped yet, so I'm hoping I can cuddle with the boyfriend and fall asleep pretty quickly tonight. He goes to bed around 11.

  14. So much for sleeping, thanks to this pain. :( Ugh.

  16. Sounds like an excellent day to me!
  17. As usual, no smoking for me today. NOPE!
  18. I am the second youngest of 10 "kids." I have three bio brothers, four step-brothers, and two step-sisters. My step-siblings are much older than me though (40 to 50), so I didn't really grow up with them and am not really close with any of them except for one who lives in the same city as me.
  19. Nice! Not sure if it will work for us Canadians, but very cool. :)
  20. 10:14 p.m. here And great idea! :)
  21. Homemade chicken nuggets, "taco" rice, and steamed broccoli.
  22. Good job Sarah! I'm glad you were able to go and have some fun. :) I knew I certainly wasn't able to drink at the start of my quit, so I admire your commitment. :D
  23. Excellent post Rachael. :) We all need to be accountable for our own quits. We're all adults and have control over staying quit or not. It's all about mindset and commitment. If you think you're going to fail, you probably will; if you don't, you won't. Simple as that. No one is responsible for how easy/difficult your quit is, whether it's your sticky quit or not, etc. It's all up to you to make that choice.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
