  1. I have been getting into funks a lot lately HM. Sorry you are feeling the way you are. :( I know how hard it is to dig yourself out once you are in one! Yes, definitely type out your feelings. Maybe this will help you discover the root cause of your funk so you can get out of it. I was in a bad mood most of last week. I don't think I felt better until the very end of the week when the weekend rolled around. Ugh.

    Tracey!

Lol, this is the first time seeing the avatar for me. Creepy indeed!
  3. I know I did Sarah. I used it as a distraction. ;)
  4. Happy Birthday Amy! Maybe?! Lol. Hope you have a wonderful day and congrats on your decision to quit. :) This will be a memorable birthday!
  5. Face down. My mind totally went into the gutter, lol. I can't remember if this was a problem early on in my quit, haha. I remember talking about how I needed to pay the dentist the other day when we were getting... um, frisky. Such sexy bedroom talk. :P
  6. I hear you Julie. It's so nasty! When I was at my old job, pretty much everyone smoked. You could tell who were the heavy smokers because they stunk when they walked by. Now I just gag inwardly at the smell... yuck!
  7. I don't understand how my boyfriend put up with me. He's a never-smoker. I must have smelled terrible and tasted like an ashtray when he kissed me! Blech. I don't know if I could be in a relationship with a smoker now. It's crazy how much your sense of smell heightens, eh? I love the smell of my shampoo and am constantly sniffing my hair after a shower, lol. I know I look weird, but there's worse things I could be doing (like smoking)!

    Avatars

I am no longer Betty Boop, lol.
  9. Oh Amy, I feel heartbroken for you. No judgement here, I promise! Been there, been through a relapse before. They suck and I know how difficult it is to restart. But I encourage you to do so! No matter how bad you feel right now or in the coming months, the feeling of being a non-smoker is indescribable. I have every bit of faith that you can and will succeed. Your attitude really speaks volumes. It doesn't matter what happened. All that matters is you quit right away. It doesn't matter how many attempts you have to make. Remember, we're always here for you, regardless of what happens. Big hugs.
  10. Colleen and Tracey, both sound delicious! I'm not sure what we're having yet... possibly Spanish rice? Num.
  11. Smoking is not an option for me today. NOPE!
  12. So disgusting. Thanks for sharing LB. Truly an eye opener. I'm glad I'm free of that prison cell.
  13. Again, it's all about your mindset! Just like Jonny said, if you believe it, you can do it!
  14. Couldn't agree more Jonny. It really is about mindset. If you believe something will happen, it will. If you think negatively about your quit, you will have a negative/rough experience. Think positively, have faith in yourself, and you will succeed. Everyone has a rough day... the only thing that matters is how you deal with those rough days.
  15. Here's to hoping as well! Fingers crossed. Keep us updated Juan. Please? :)
  16. Glad to hear you're feeling better Action. Hoping you get your results soon. And lol about the female dentist. I have a rather good-looking male dentist myself. I think he's in his 40s, but he sure doesn't look it.
  17. Lol LadyBug, when I was a smoker and someone gave me the speech, I smoked more! I guess I was trying to prove them wrong? God only knows with this stupid addiction. Now I'm the naggy ex-smoker. I try not to be, but sometimes it happens! My little brother is visiting for the week and I was nagging him yesterday to quit smoking. Brother: "I've cut down." Me: "You know you're just torturing yourself, right? Cutting down is not a good method." Brother: "You were a smoker once... you should understand." Me: "And now I'm not a smoker. If I can do it, so can you!" Brother: "But I like smoking." And so on and so forth. Got to love that junkie thinking, eh?
  18. I like hearing updates from the newbies. :D I enjoy seeing their posts and hearing their progress. Come on guys, we don't bite (hard). We're here to offer support and to get to know you! Jump in at any time. Evelyn, thanks for starting this thread!
  19. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but this is definitely temporary. It's your body's way of responding to change. Things are going to be out of whack for a bit until you fully adjust to a non-smoking life. I don't really know how long it lasts... I guess it's dependent on the person and their quit. You will be okay though. I assure you, it will get better!
  20. Oh, you guys have been lucky. :) I don't think I've ever met anyone famous. Not yet at least. Grew up in the country and lived kind of a sheltered life until I moved out. Hopefully I'll get to meet famous people some day. :D

    Woo Hoo, MQ!

I am really digging the new look! Very nice indeed. :)
  22. Powerful post Rain. Sorry about your friend. :( This addiction is a b*tch. I really do hope she quits smoking, but we can't force her to stop. You would think a scare like that would convince her, but we tend to underestimate the powerful hold addiction has on us. I feel for her and for you. Hugs from afar. I will never smoke. Now that I'm free, I don't plan on going back. I don't avoid smokers as much anymore, but I did in the beginning. I used to "envy" them. Now I just pity them and am disgusted by their habit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
