Been making masks for two days now. I have our dearest friends and most of our neighborhood covered.  The men ones are super powers and the women get two different flower pattern sides.  Could not get any material from store but used material I had left from quilts I made my grandchildren.  Found shoe laces worked best for the ties because could not get my hands on elastic.

What is most impressive to me is that sewing machine in the picture.  It is a 1936 Featherweight Singer Sewing Machine that was my grandmothers.  I love this sewing machine.  It never fails me.  They just do not make them like that anymore.  This one was one of the first powered machines that plugged in and has a foot peddle

Those are awesome @Mee, how fortunate your friends and loved ones are. I love your sewing machine too! 😊

Does my jillar need one.  I don't have any with bunny ears😊

You're a doll for asking. I luckily took three masks as I was leaving the hospital in January. They had them next to the elevators because of the flu. I haven't had to use them yet because I've stayed home so I'm good 😘

If it's not too much trouble, I could use one for when the wife asks me to run to the store for her!

Just kidding. I send the wife to the store these days. I haven't left the property in almost 3 weeks. Haven't started my car since Feb. 12th. Battery's dead now so won't be going out anytime soon. The wife loves to go out any chance she gets. Must have been something I said 😇

I have wife ones too.  I understand how she feels.  My husband retired in January and I think he is attached to my hip.  I am concerned about going out so we are working on a new kind of normal!

First day back at work at the hospital since my recovery. A huge chunk of our resources have been diverted to COVID-19 related care.  Normally bustling hallways are now practically deserted.

I must say, the public has been amazing as far as donating PPE. ❣️

I am here in the epicenter of Rona.....haven't left my house in 10 days or so (I think...losing track!). I don't have any masks or a sewing machine but have plenty of scarves so will make do somehow when I have to make a grocery store run in a few days...

Stay safe....stay home!

22 days locked behind my shutters.  I can stay home for days/weeks on end with no issues but, make myself go out once a week because I start to get squirrel-y.

Now, completely squirrel-y.  lol.  glad you are home .   @Rozuki glad you are well @BKP and great to see you @abbynormal

and all the rest of you darling smoke free creatures !

If you're using a homemade fabric mask or bandanna the optimum utilization is to launder it every time you take it off.  If you're unable to do that, at the very least understand that there should be a consistent inside (against your face) and an outside (away from your face).  These must be maintained throughout the daily use of your mask.  You never want to put the dirty side against your face.  You also don't want to take it off and put it in your pocket. That will contaminate the entire mask.

@BKP God Bless you and thank you for your service through this.  I did make my masks two different colors so you can tell the difference between sides.  I did make a pocket to put something protective in between but there is not much to be had out there.
