Melbourne front line hospitals volunteering to trial the use of an old lupus drug as a infection prevention...trial still a few weeks and a rubber stamp away. March 28, 20206 yr I've been in isolation for just over two weeks, plenty of supplies. Not going out at all. Please stay home y'all. Here is some information about the virus itself from Science Insider

The problem, at least here, is that many needed supplies are never available for delivery right now, so you have to go to the store yourself (and right at opening time) to have a chance to find some necessary items. Unfortunately, since many people are hoarding, the rest of us are unable to buy enough to avoid semi-frequent future trips to the store since the amount you can buy is now very limited on cleaning and disinfecting supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
March 28, 20206 yr Us Liverpudlians have finally got the message to stop hoarding .... The shops are much better stocked now ....we even have toilet rolls .... I'm ok .... got enough to last at least a week ....❤

March 28, 20206 yr I have a large stock of emergency (i.e. Hurricane) supplies and only ordered once to see if it works. It does. This is the time of year I eat last year's stash and collect this years. I was ahead of the curve and hadn't started consuming. I won't NEED anything for 80 days ( low estimate). Hopefully the curve will flatten by then. When y'all do go shopping. Please keep safe distance. Wear gloves, wash hands. Get non perishable items like dried beans. A lb of beans will nourish and last a good while. Think of nutrition. Beans, Nuts, Grains. Try ordering online. Not just Amazon and Walmart but, some smaller companies. There is food available, maybe not what you are used to, it is a matter of sourcing Safely. You can live without paper towels and toilet paper if you have water. It drives me insane that people are risking their lives and going out for toilet paper ! Living through Katrina taught me a lot...K was harder in some ways, we didn't have power or water or the luxury of ordering online if need be. and speaking of Katrina, operations are underway to quickly build medical surge capacity at the Convention Center. The Convention Center is where a lot of people went after being evacuated from The Super Dome and after the levees failed. Some died, you may have seen it on TV. It was a fiasco. I can only imagine the intensity of collective PTSD flaring up at the friggin Convention Center. On nolaready.com which keeps us abreast of the situation, our Governor said yesterday, "If we don’t flatten the curve, the New Orleans area could run out of ventilators by April 2 " For the record, I have no symptoms. I didn't go out at Mardi Gras. I don't go out much anyway. This doesn't mean I am in the clear but, I am optimistic. If I do contract COVID-19 I will likely ride it out at home but, that is a decision to be made. All anyone can do is to limit exposure. With lungs damaged from years of smoking we must be exceptionally vigilant in staying as safe as we can and hopefully not infecting others. You can spread the virus having no symptoms at all. Love y'all. Stay in touch. S

March 30, 20206 yr Author So if ya not home schooling the kids it seems ya gotta be home schooling the parents...just took me over an hour to explain to my dad how to transfer money using BPay from his bank account to his tab betting account because all the pubs and tabs are closed now and he needs betting money in his account. We had success!...and he's finally getting the isolation message.
March 30, 20206 yr Author My brother on the other hand has been sacked from his homeschool teaching job....day on and he made both his students cry.
March 30, 20206 yr This whole situation really gives me an opportunity to figure out how I want to show up for people. the powerlessness of knowing people are suffering alone.... of course this occurs every day any way, we just get to keep it forefront right now. staying on the property we live on. plenty of room to roam....tomorrow being extra gentle with myself today, little sleep, and the junkie thinking preying on my feelings of powerlessness and separateness.... stay safe and sane people. be kind and loving ... even if you're sick of being cooped up with people. you could be wishing you were with those very same people had circumstances found you apart when this began.
March 30, 20206 yr being extra gentle with myself today, little sleep, and the junkie thinking preying on my feelings of powerlessness and separateness.... Smoking would only make the situation alot worse Darcy ....keep your lungs as clear as possible ... Be thankful you had the strength to Quit ....no place for junkie thinking right now ..❤

In reality, addiction keeps you powerless and under it's control When you quit, you claim back your power with every damn trigger and crave. Your mind is now YOURS. Your reward system needs to recover and rebuild but, this doesn't take long and is assisted by you rewarding yourself. Another Lie of addiction is that addiction comforts and succors you. It doesn't. It KILLS you. You are not separate. You are separating from your addiction. Stand tall. Reward yourself. You Quit Smoking, Darcy ! These Junkie thoughts will be winding down. Shoo them away as best you can.
