  1. Thank you @jillar! The benefits from quitting smoking that you mentioned are great! And that self discipline comes in handy when fighting that mental game! Much needed pep talk! Thanks again!

  8. Fantastic Robbie! You sound so much more comfortable with your quit too! Remember how rough it was in the beginning? Remember when we thought that we weren’t going to survive our initial quit? LOL How gullible we were. We kicked butt girl!
  9. Great job posting IamMommaBear! I had lightheadedness. I think it’s pretty normal. If it continues for a prolonged period or comes with weakness and/or confusion you may want to talk to your doctor about it. I’ve been following your quit and you are doing awesome. I’m 55, 35 year 2pk a day smoker with anxiety issues. The initial quit was so hard and horrible for me. But I survived. I thought that my mind would break a few times but I survived! I’m 4 and 1/2 months into my quit and it DOES get easier. So very much easier! I promise!
  10. Congratulations on 8 years quit!
  11. I’m on board!!!
  12. Welcome aboard Momma Bear! We all get so excited when someone new boards the train! I had severe anxiety during my initial quit so I pretty much had to lay in bed with the covers over my head and just cry it out. I eventually overcame it. My biggest help was constantly reading all of the posts on this page and drinking plenty of fluids to flush my system. We are all here to help when needed and I do wish you well with your quit.
  13. Congratulations @Mee!!!
  14. I’m sorry that you are going through this. I know exactly how it feels. Sometimes it makes me think that I am not allowed to be happy, on top of the world, or just completely comfortable in myself or where I am at in life. But I muster on. Breathing exercises help me the most. They ground me. I surely hope that you are over this latest attack. Praying for a happy day!
  15. Amazing that your boss adjusted your hours! I hope everything goes well for your mom and I will keep you both in my prayers.

Good luck in your endeavor @Abby!
  17. Great save Steven! Keep that quit!
  18. Congratulations @Jengelsnew1!!! And it’s great that you logged on for this! I love it when the longer quits that aren’t as active on here as they once were log on to let us newbies see that we are going to survive and that we can do this because so many have done it before us and are still enjoying their smoke free lives!! You are !!
  19. Congratulations on 8 Paul 723!!!
  20. Thanks everyone!!!
  21. Thank you @Kris! The job is good! I’m not going to lie though. Some days when I walk out there a cigarette the size of my arm would be just the thing! LOL But I know that to be the lie that it is! That’s how the old me would have wanted to relax after a long stressful day at work. I am able to check up you all briefly a couple of times during the day and then in the evening when I get home. I’m never far away. I see that you are still keeping your quit and getting more familiar with how the site works. Just stay with us. We need each other. I’m not ashamed to say it. There was a time in the early stages of my quit when I didn’t need or want anything to do with anyone except for my QuitTrain friends and I thank God that they were all here!!!! Keep up the good fight and I’ll be thinking of you!
  22. Welcome @Tikibarjohn!!! I’m sorry for your loss. You have come to the right place for support on your quit journey! Please watch the videos and read as many posts as possible. The personal stories concerning an individual’s quit are the most helpful thing on this site, for me. I’m glad that you are here and know that you will succeed in your quit and way to go on that weight loss!! Amazing!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
