  1. Welcome @Anne E.! Looking forward to following your story! I hope that you find the help that you need here, with us! @Katgirl is right. Read the personal stories. They truly are the most inspiring and helpful items on here! And every story is unique to the individual telling it. Look around the site to see what is offered, but mainly you will find some of the nicest(even if they are throwing some tough love at you), funniest, helpful, and patient fellow quitters on the planet!!!
  2. @Katgirl New York Style IS the best!
  3. I hate the days such as this. They do get easier, but still. They do tend to bring us down.
  4. The whole cake?? Yums! @jillar I’ll take a slice of German Chocolate cake for breakfast this a.m.
  5. Thank you @jillar! No worries on ANY nicotine or nicotine replacements. I will never go through withdrawal again!!!! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!
  6. Thank you @Kris! I’m slowly getting the hang of it. I think that I’m going to adjust. It is just such a big change for me. It’ll be cool. Or not. LOL
  7. Today was better @Doreensfree! It is rough going though and I am hear to say…you could never pay daycare workers too much. Never. LOL oh and I and forever done with any kind of nicotine.
  8. Thank you @d2e8b8! Yeah, these kids run right over me also. That’s why I am not a teacher. I’d rather play and create chaos with the kids than correct them and teach them. LOL
  9. Thank you so much @Katgirl! Everything you said is true. I’m only three days in on the job and I know its going to take time to adjust. I do hope that you enjoy your time with your family! I can tell that you love them all very much!
  10. P.S. Would I have smoked? I would have seriously considered it. I did consider it. Thankfully, I was no where around a cigarette. But, I would not have smoked. It would have taken to many purposeful and willful actions contrary to every thing I’ve gone through these past few months and so out of sync with how I think now that I know that I would have NOT smoked. Taking gum with me today. Not much I can do to distract myself from the cravings while standing in a room full of littles because you know, they are not distracting enough.
  11. I started my new job yesterday and what can I say? After not working for 20 years?! I’m sure that I do not need to describe how I was feeling. But what I do need to say is at some point I started feeling a little harried and agitated so I checked my phone to see what time it was because it just had to be close to my 1::15 lunch break?? I literally almost broke down because it was ONLY just before noon. So, from that point on I was agitated the rest of day. I actually wanted a cigarette off and on for the rest of the day!!! When I finally went to lunch I went to the bathroom and cried for a full minute before I turned that off because I would still be crying, I think. lol Anyway, all of that just to say, “No matter how well that you think you are doing, that monster is still there. Be vigilant! Guard your quit! The rest of your life is just going to have to be one big long NOPE!!!” I’m just hoping today goes a little smoother.
  12. Congratulations Opah!
  13. Thank you @Steven Drojensky!
  14. Teaching assistant for a year round private school. Pre K. It’s an entry level position.
  15. So, I went for my first interview this morning and before I made it back home they called and want me to start at 8 in the morning. The pay is not great but I’m hoping it’ll be enough. A couple of my family members seem to feel that I’ve made a mistake. Making me second guess my decision and well, I guess I’ll see. I will not be getting on here as much, but I will try to check in at least once a day. So, I guess that I will not be the first to obtain all of the badges @d2e8b8! HaHa I’ll miss keeping up with y’all so much. See ya soon!
  16. Thank you @Boo!
  17. Mornings were the worst for me too. Some mornings I just stayed in bed weeping under the covers. Stuff of nightmares. Although God has the power to see us through we still have to go through it. So I ask for comfort and peace and strength. It’s hard filling the morning with worthwhile activities. So much of it in the past was spent smoking.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
