  6. 2 mile swim this morning- 7 mile run this afternoon in the heat. Long week is done. Time for a nap
  7. White water kayaking sounds like a fun workout! Today was my long bike ride and banged out 50 miles in 3 hours- just over 16 mph. It was hot with a headwind last 20 miles luckily I planned and had plenty of water on board
  8. Sporting approx 234 awesome days of freedom!!
  9. Squeezed in 3.5 mile trail run this morning before work. Thursdays are long work days for me- I teach a 4 hour evening class so glad I got this done early!
  10. 2900 meters this morning in the pool- longest workout to date. These swims are all drills: todays main set was 7x200 with 20 seconds rest between, 5x100 with 5 sec rest. This afternoon I went for a 3.5 mile trail run.
  11. HAT congrats on one year- I was there once but took it for granted and relapsed after 7 years smoke free Never let your guard down. Looking forward to joining you on the Lido deck
  12. 2400 meters of drills In the pool this morning and a nice 20 miler on the roadie this afternoon. Gonna be a long week-
  13. Mostly road cycling at the moment although I ride the mountain bike often as well. You'll never find me on a stationary or treadmill I prefer activities over exercise. My running is done primarily on trails mostly to save my knees and hips
  14. Back into the grind of 2 a days for the next 4 weeks. Yesterday I rode 22 miles followed by a 2 mile run Over the last 7 months I’ve dropped almost 20# even tho I wasn’t overweight. Definitely dropped most of my body fat. My diet has slowly changed to healthy foods that don’t weigh me down. I stick to lean meats fruits and veggies.

    Today

Ive had a few moments where mad urges showed up out of nowhere- actually each incident had triggers but they were real and took some self control to get through. I'm confident with my quit though and knowing these will come and pass made it easier. We are with you Linda!

  24. Absolutely brutal Xterra triathlon this morning- good news is I didn't die. Pretty decent swell currently so the swim was interesting. Usually my best discipline but I struggled this morning. After the swim it's about a 1/4 mile run to transition to grab the bike. I had ridden the bike course a few weeks ago so I knew what to expect. Overall the bike went well. Run course was 4 miles, that included a mile long climb up a steep fire road, and an equally steep descend for about 1/2 mile. The last mile was nice slight downhill through a small canyon,. I had a great run despite all my worries I wasn't ready. Overall I finished 5th in my age group which surprised me that I did so well, or the others in my age group did crappy Finish time was 3:13 Time for a beer and a nap

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
