  1. I don't know. I have just not had to budget everything around having enough money for smokes. Fair wack will have gone on the chemist as one of my meds is not PBS listed. I have increased my donations each month. I buy the kid brand name close. Better cuts of meat at the butchers. Occupational therapy for the kids dyslexia (it's experimental so not covered) and her physio for her knee.
  2. A genetically anomaly is some primordial ooze on a day when atmospheric conditions were optimal....or god clicked his fingers.. you choose @Martian5 .... I rest my case! .... mathematics says no. Cos you're their bunnies....it's psychology mate, pure and simple, they have the mind set that they always do well against you and subsequently they play outa their skins...your mob have the psychology that the Marlins have ya number and get in their own heads and play like shit..... Your welcome.
  3. The Ashes are a series a cricket test matches played between Australia and England. Cricket is like baseball, only requiring more skill, talent and stamina ....so the two countries play a best if 5 series, but each game takes up to 5 days and you only have 2 innings each...and the winner gets this charming little trophy.... Which is the holy grail of cricket..it's a little terracotta pot 11cm (um about 4-5") that holds the ashes of a burnt bail.
  4. 2 is the lie, cos how can he grow them if he doesn't touch them.
  5. And the winner is @Jordan7 .... Last night there was no annoying music on the train. 1. Sadly, very true...still have a residual ache. 2. True....and trapped in a 4seat so couldn't escape. 3...lie...no annoying music last night, won't mean there isn't this morning or tonight.
  6. Dad training!
  7. Yes there is a lie!
  8. This is the perfect spot for this thread @Matt B. So the games thread here is not anything about computer games...it's just games you can play to help get past a prickly moment, they are more social interaction. Music threads are good too. During my first week a customer in Sydney made a comment he had to call before I went on smoko...and I felt pretty stoked to tell him I'd quit...his advice, just worry about not smoking today, one day that's it. Only focus on the day. If ya into omens I quit just before an Ashes series, an still going strong so clearly Ashes season is a grouse time to quit.
  9. @Sslip's (algebraic) Law of X....or the SLOX....an invaluable tool in the games thread for all those A-Z games....just like in Algebra (see kids, it did have a purpose) X = a number.....and therefore an "X" could be played instead of skipped.
  10. Hey Matt, just dropping in to say good idea and welcome. Nice to have another Aussie onboard, even if he is from Sydney...at least it's not Adelaide
  11. Sumac
  12. Hmmmm...... At the time of writing.... 1. I am on a train and some random man in my vacinity has bathed in cheap aftershave that has given me a headache and I am considering hunting him down so that if I spew I can aim at him. 2. I am on a train listing to two moron women graphically discus their sex lives and learning things I never even imagined being possible let alone enjoyable while the skeezy guy sitting next two them tries to hide his grown erection behind his newspaper. 3. I am sitting on the train listening to someone at the other end of the trains crappy music through the tiny speaker of their mobile wishing my headphones went loader or cancelled noise.
  13. 8.. mornin Andy, congrats on ya Anni.
  14. Oh...I nominate @Boo's 2nd anniversary gift request of a recliner...now the stock standard 2nd year gift. Boo's Tennessee Special.. more redneck than lidodeck...but we forgave @reciprocity, it was an easy mistake to make.
  15. What are you doing in here???...the parties on the Lido Deck
  16. Congratulations @abbynormal for being 7 months smoke free. Well done Abby. 7 months is a great foundation for a lifetime of freedom. Make sure you do something special to reward yourself for this milestone. You are doing so well.
  17. Congratulations @Wee fluffy me for being 2 years smoke free! Well done Fluffy on making it to the amazing second level. I believe @jillar is the keel of the key for the secret lido deck and even though we have been scrambling to get things together for Linda's first year woohoo we could never forget you. Your special 2nd year recliner has been forgone because Old English decided this 2nd year anniversary present was by far more perfect for you... Thanks for all the support and laughs...sit back, feet up and enjoy your celebration.
  18. So this is my special woohoo, you @Linda Thomas are an inspiration. So your very first post I thought oh I don't think this one will make it (glad I was wrong), you were so tentative and lacking in self belief.... and I read your post and re-read it and I wanted you to succeed (I want everyone to succeed) but the parallels we shared in our lives, I just wanted to reach across the distance and hold the little girl you had been and hug the woman you had become who wasn't the woman you should be. I wanted you to have what I have, freedom and the knowledge that I mean something and I am truely worthwhile, because you Linda are and from those very first posts I could see not smoking Linda peaking out yelling hey I'm here let me out...and I watched, as did everybody else, and I cheered as day by day you grew. I cried at the anguish in your posts, I cried at the love and support you blessed me with and everyone else with too. I rejoiced with you and for you. Growing up I was told if you could hold out your hand and count 5 true friends you were indeed blessed. I'm really blessed, I have more than 5 but you are one of them. Hugest congratulations my dear for looking at that mountain and taking your first scary arsed step and conquering it. It wasn't always easy, it wasn't always fun but you have a backbone of steel (and a big set of hairy quit balls) and you never gave up. I frickin heaps proud of ya....you have touched and changed my life for the better.
  19. Oh...and remember my dear, about 6 months ago @Doreensfree said there was a chair on the lido deck with your name on it? ... Well she didn't lie
  20. Congratulations @Linda Thomas for being smoke free for 1 year! (And for growing a pair of big, hairy, quit balls ) Well done Linda! Twelve months ago you arrived here, timid and afraid and as you grew strong in your quit you started giving back, to the newbies coming behind, to those travelling with you and to the old phartes. You are an inspiration as is your journey. So sit back, watch the entertainment and have a drink as we raise our glasses for one of the most anticipated Woohoos in QT history and toast to your success. You little ripper!
  21. Bugger... Multiple, but let's just go with "damn" (Drops hammer on foot) ... "Bugger" But if you bugger something, you stuff it up or wreck it...or when kids are being naughty they are little buggers.
  22. I couldn't lie....it must have been the flashbacks to Sr Geraldine from the slang thread Do I have to go again?
  23. We have a stupid stainless steel fridge at work and the boys deliberately cover it in fingerprints so every time I walk in there I have to clean it. Oh ...oops.....I didn't lie...lol.... I think I my head I meant to say I polish my boots every night....I'm just too excited.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
