Pom...or pommy.... An English person... As in... Those who whinging pommy bastards robbed the bloody kiwis in cricket. Or I don't really care if we loose, as long as we beat the Poms.

Nonga ....nong-ahh A fool/idiot...very mild, almost affectionate it down... Trying to help me dad do the backyard mechanic thing...he ask for a tool and I give him the wrong one... "Ah ya Nonga...not that thingy the other thingy, you know" this is accompanied by a vague waving of his fingers behind his back.

Banana smoothies (low fat, a bit if honey) can help with the cramps and act as a meal too. Tonic water (minus the gin) at a glass a day can help with the cramps too. It's my go to. You will get suck of being asked "how are you"....I started answering in phrases and accents with a basic Okand a change of topic and they stopped asking ...in hindsight it was nice that people asked but you do get over it and want different convos. So my answers we "or-ight" with broadest Aussie accept, "Choice bro" channelling the kiwi cousins, "very good thankyou" (Indian, as in from India)...you get the idea. It's ok to cry, it's ok to think why me, I'm a good person....that is healthy, that is normal. Actually crying is good for the soul. You don't have to be the strong, together one it's ok to feel all the other stuff too. So my go too trick was to recite the lyrics of good king Wenceslas and visualise the story....make like a little movie for it in my head...and then I'd just go through the other Chrissy carols doing the same thing. You need to occupy your mind so you dont focus on the horror and confussion. Hope the treatments ease up.

^ I love @Doreensfree's neighbours, looking out for our Toad. Ok all weepy now. So tonight I had Chinese...cos it was my dad's birthday and for the first time in nearly a decade all 4 of his kids and his 3 grandkids were there together. I ate responsibly...and then we had fried icecream...

I don't run a short order kitchen so saddly I go without a lot of things I would rather have because I don't have it in me to cook two different meals every time.

Woohoo huge congrats for your anniversary. I am so glad you stuck around to help so many of us join you in freedom. You bring brightness and light into everyone's day and in the grey world we often live in that is a rare gift indeed. Well bloody done on giving up and KTQ for more than half a decade. Thank you for the support and guidance and laughs you give us all. Hope you had an awesome day my friend.

Doesn't everyone mow the lawn in their thongs? Ok now I'm having bad flashbacks to my dad mowing the lawn in his Speedos and gumboots and an accubra (because sun smart).

Pretty good with a camera??? Way to understate it there Nanna Catlovers... I've paid professionals money for pics not that good. She is beautiful, and her slightly grumpy-startled face is probably because she saw the cricket results

Depending on the cut it's always been in the budget. It's probably the dearest meat, besides goat, but it's not crazy expensive...it's a bit exy at the moment because of the big 3, drought, low Aussie dollar and increased export demands BUT I can still do a leg raise for about $40 (so under $30 US) and it gives me 2 meals, roast dinner for 4, and a big family size meat pie. Soup Chops are easy and use a cheap cut...so you get some forequarter chips, some cheap packet french onion soup (yep the powder stuff) so piece of tinfoil sprinkle some soup put a chop or 2 sprinkle more soup, wrap it up in the tinfoil like a little parcel. Only do 1-2 chops per parcel...then cook in the oven for about an hour on 180c (360f)....the fat from the lamb mixes with the powder soup and makes your gravy, then just turn out of the tinfoil and serve with whatever veg you want to serve. The meat melts.

The Vegemite treatment was better on lamb than beef, although could have been the cut. Still yum. Did curry cauliflower and cashew nut soup last night for the quick easy option. Stuffed zucchini tonight. Just prepping them now. Thinking I might do french onion lamb chops on thursdee.

Wonder if 3D printers are the beginning of engineers creating a Jetson style food machine?

Hang around long enough and that might change. Sometimes I am much less ...hmmmm..lucid. Random thought: why is New York called the big Apple and Tassie called The Apple Isle when Tas is way bigger, way more apple shaped and they actually grown apples there?... AND...why isn't it called The Smiley Face State...unsee it my friends...

Do You Talk To Friends About Their Smoking?
notsmokinjo replied to Reciprocity's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
I wait to be asked.. usually someone will ask if I have a spare durry and I will say, nope I quit ##ago...which either leads to questions, nothing or "bullshit"...to which i say, "yeah-NAH one-a the best things I ever did" (kinda hard to top the kid)....which either leads to questions or nothing...I get where ya coming from @reciprocity, I've got a couple of mates/relos who I wish would quit but my nagging ain't going to help. -
[7 Day Nonic] 7 Day Quit Challenge!

@Matt B grab some lifesavers or chuppa chups or chewy to get through the day.. it helps. -
True...every Friday...and most Wednesdays...yep even when it's not Lent. TNP has roast at least once a week.

Holy flippin batshit @Sazerac that is an impressive line up.... I don't want any of them to be a lie... So maybe taj cos he's more a Harlem scene man...but nope I'm Gunna say.. 1. And not cos I don't think ya good enough but because your two young to have opened for him. Muddy Waters died in the early 80s, Taj is still kicking and JLH died in the early naughties, so unless you were a child star I reckon it's 1 for the lie.
-
Well @Sazerac was correct, she is often lucky like this. 1. Was the lie, but only because it was judo not karate...3rd isn't that impressive because there were only 5 in my division due to height and weight and being mixed gender and belting. Didn't go to the hospital for nearly a week (because intially it was a case of, suck it up and compete for the club and then it was well it was ok to keep going during the tourny it can't be that bad... I was 9) 2. Yep, and that was after walking around on it for a couple of hours in the city. The things ya do when ya 14. 3. Yep it's true, I broke my own nose and fractured through the eye socket. Played 2 games cos it was just a blood nose and black eyes after it but that night when I was at the drags and it started bleeding like a tap and wouldn't stop, off to the hossy and 2 ops later.
-
Hmmmm... Let's see if I can do this right this time... 1. I once competed in a karate tournament and finished third after fracturing my foot in warm ups before my first fight. 2. I once walked for 15km on a broken ankle because I didn't want the guy I was crushing on to think I was a woosy. 3. I broke my own nose and eye socket why I dropped my shoulder doing a slap bunt and smacked it into my own face.
-
2 is the lie.
-
Larry.. a loser, as in Larry the Loser... Bob is such a larry.

@Cbdave it was frickin grouse. The kid (fussiest eater on earth) has requested it again. I didn't have any bay leaves but I chucked a couple of lemon myrtle ones in. I'm all set for some chuck on Monday night.. going to try Asia flavours now.

Woohoo @Wantsit well done on being 75% of the way to that first year. 3/4 of a year is huge. Make sure you do something special to celebrate.
