  1. So there is a push at the moment to make the Melbourne CBD smoke free and as of tomorrow morning the Bourke Street Mall goes smoke free. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/councillors-push-for-melbourne-cbd-smoking-ban/news-story/5a19306d333bc561a63b4b0edf3d6538 So in Australia if an area is designated non-smoking that includes vaping. Other states joke the Victoria has become over regulated and is the nanny state but I'm not sure it's so bad.
  2. Hey @Octain the one johnny mentioned has a Cristian section so might still suit.
  3. Chocolate Cupcakes (vegan) So I hacked my go to chocolate cupcake recipe so I could cook it for a friend who is vegan. I have put the original recipe ingredients in (brackets) where I have done a switch out, I have used { } to indicate a us/UK translation if know. We just call shit different things, live with it . The kid, who isn't really a cake person loved these normally but had a vegan one and asked if I changed the recipe cos this was better. Cups in Australia hold 250ml Ingredients: 2 cups plain flour {all purpose flour} 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup good quality unsweatened cocoa powder 2 teaspoons bicarb soda {baking soda, soda bicarbonate} 1 cup water (milk) 1 cup vegan mayonnaise (whole egg mayo) 1/4 cup apple sauce 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar. (Malt vinegar.....but I've always used apple cider vinegar, malt vinegar is just for corned beef) Method: Preheat oven to 180c {350f....sorry dunno the Brit equivalent gas level something...wait the Google B1tch tells me it's gas mark 4} 1. In a bowl sieve all the dry ingredients and mix until combined. 2. In a larger bowl add all wet ingredients and using a hand mixer/beaters mix on high until well blended. 3. Add dry ingredients to wet mix in 3 batches, beating between each addition and scraping down the sides. If mix seems too dry (it should be think not runny) you can add a few extra tablespoons of water. 4. You could cook as 1 cake but I line 2 cupcake tins with patty pans (those cup cake paper things) and fill 1/2 way. Pop in the oven for 15-20mins or until the skewer comes out clean. Once cool decorate with either a buttercream icing (I use a coconut oil marg to keep the vegan going) or a chocolate ganache when vegan doesn't matter.
  4. 1. Feeling slightly jealous of @WeegieWoman's view. 2. Watching a cooking show teach me how to make a Thai fish soup...looks much quicker and easier than my usual recipe. 3. Waiting for the cupcakes in the oven to be finished cooking. 4. Thinking the food channel might not be the best middle of the night option for an insomniac.

  20. Welcome @Birch...oh you are so in the right place. 1 smoke a week...a pack a day we come in all shapes and sizes but the one thing we all have in common is we are nicotine addicts and we want to be free of this addiction. Dunno about up north (I live down under) but down here post extractions we are supposed to be smoke free for at least 2 weeks to avoid dry socket (omg the pain, the pain ,...yep I didn't wait)...so keep that as extra motivation. As for the happy weed...there are those here who do and those who don't ...some just eat it...some are really against it...most are indifferent but I say cross one bridge at a time. Biggest tips I have for newbies...join the daily NOPE thread...Not One Puff Ever...even if like me in the beginning it was a NOPE for today which brings me to my second biggest tip....just take it one day at a time, only worry about today...tomorrow will get here eventually but just focus on today. Other tips...keep your fluids up. And your blood sugar levels...2 birds, 1 stone...drink lots of juice I don't wish the newbies good luck because a successful quit has nothing to do with luck, just respecting yourself enough not to put something in your mouth and setting it in fire.
  21. You bloody ripper. Well done Jill...excellent choice @MarylandQuitter.. Although I a little bit concerned about you giving others the jack...there are creams and pills for that these days you know

  24. Bloody hell....this is too damned hard....what a frickin awful question....but I'm running on the assumption H2O is bountiful.....so I'll be havin Roast lamb (leg) with roast tayters, pumpkin, carrots, parsnip and then peas with gravy and mint sauce or jelly....for the side I'll be having a piece of Vegemite toast.
  25. @Boo and @Linda Thomas I just slowly make my eyes go cross eyed and when it starts the pop out I then focus on it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
