Toy box... My dad made the kid a little table and chairs set...it's in storage for now...I made her (ok I assembled a flat pack) an little desk/chalkboard/cabinet that she loved....it is sorta like this but little kid sized, when the desk was folded up it is a chalk board Oh.. Just had a great idea... Keep ya off cuts cos you can use them to make building blocks. The building clocks font have to be all dimensionally same same...I know it will mess with your not so latent OCD but do it anywho.

Hey Chook, 3 words for ya mate...it gets better.... Unfortunately there is no magic date or time because we are all bloody different. Side effects and changes of quitting are different for all of us too. I felt crap when I quit...had all these wired side effects, insomnia, hand tremors, hot flushes, cold sweats, diet issues, concentration problems....in my case nicotine had been 'medicating' (MASKING) some major thyroid issues. Quitting literally saved my life. Your body takes ages to purge the crap smokes have left behind. For me, when I stopped expecting to feel better I suddenly did.

Most of the price is made up of taxes. In the early 90s the Aussie government bought in a prohibitive pricing policy to phase out smoking... Initially this was 2% increase twice a year...in the mid naughties this was upped to a 9% a year increase per year (3x 3% Inc's per annum). Then in 2016 the annual increase was set at 12.5% per year (4.5, 4 & 4) up to and including 2020...at this stage I am not sure what the plan is come 2021...oh and the excise tax is before the 10% GST. The tobacco excise is supposed to support quit initiatives and go into the health system....not sure that happens though. So even as a smoker I was pro inhibitive pricing....yes the argument is it just punishes the poor and creates class divide but I am that poor...well more like working class....still see it as a positive step. I couldn't anymore! Would much rather spend me hard earned on other stuff.

In a pinch if ya don't have any bug spray you can use extra hold hair spray..spiders are covered in hairs and it freezes them. Also with the funnel webs they are so easy to catch (listened to the man on Canberra radio explain how to do it) if you see one walking you just put a glass jar in front of it and it will walk straight in. Never knew they couldn't hurt dogs and cats with their venom. How weird.

OK so @Cbdave and @forestgreen are probs the only ones who will get this so I'll do some splaining at the end.... Basically this is a conversation with my Dad last night. We were talking about the Corona virus and it went a little like this: Dad: Your mum is really worried about this Corona virus, reckons I might be in trouble (dad has existing health issues) Me: Dad you'll be fine, its just like a bad flu. Just wash ya hands and eat healthy and you'll be right. Dad: Oh I know I'll be right. I can't get it cos I only drink VBs or Crownies. Sadly he was not having a lend, he really did think it was a virus you got from drinking Corona beer. Explaination: VB (Victorian Bitter) and Crownies (Crown Larger) are popular beers in Melbourne... less popular in NSW (Land of the Tooeys) and QLD (XXXX... prounounced as four-ex)

Not sure what they are reporting overseas but @Doreensfree the Canberra fire has flared back up. Yes they have closed the airport. I have checked the maps and your Nicky is safe where she is. If she is telling you not to worry then all is good. I'm back listening to the Canberra radio and will keep you posted. Saddly, 3 US firefighters lost their lives today when the plane they were waterbombing in crashed. Coming halfway across the world to help us to make the ultimate, that's a hero.

Jo and I've been not smokin for 26 months next week. No news is good news so leaving it at that...oh wait getting a hair chop on Satdee so there's something new and I finally got glasses so the headaches have improved.

This is a funnel web being milked to make antivenom.... One of me cousins was bit once, said it was the most painful thing ever. We don't get funnel webs down here in Victoria (please, nobody bother to check this fact and correct me... let me live in my current belief system that they can't cross the boarder from NSW).... we have redbacks though and they frickin hurt... although I'm pretty sure with redbacks the chicks are more venomous than the blokes.

Well the rain hasn't let up for 12 hours. Hope it's heading north. Rivers are looking a bit high but tide up so hard to judge. Rain knocked out the Ballarat fire (closest to me, but still 1.5hrs away) and it's moving so slow. Hasn't stopped at all. Better get to those drought spots up north.

Good news @Doreensfree, the Canberra fire has been downgraded. I have been listening to Canberra radio to keep an eye on things.
