Came across this in the Washington Post. Apparently vaping has been linked to a lung illness See article here: Mystery lung illness linked to vaping

Pretty sure I won't smoke today ....... why would I? NOPE!

Is this the meat pie line? I'm all in. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🕴️🕺👯‍♂️🧘‍♂️🕺🏃‍♂️🐧

OMG - loving the food pics!! At the moment just getting used to this new wee hours internal clock - hoping over time it will phase itself out and things get back to some sort of normal. And now I find myself wanting a meatpie!! 😍

Meat pies are Aussie as...we even do itty bitty party sized ones....the south Australians are a bit odd they float theirs but summer or winter nothing beats a neat pie.

Time to start packing your bags TobacNO because you'll be strolling around the Lido deck a month from now! Congrats on 11 months smoke free. You've done a great job!

Congrats Kdad on your 11 month quit! You're almost at a full year and that's something to be extremely proud of This next month will fly by and then we'll be piping you onto the Lido deck for a major celebration so, get ready 👍

So I did start my new AM routine this morning and have to say - I feel really good and proud of myself! I found something nice on from the Livestrong foundation by the YMCA that seems perfect and low impact. I even have a new checklist to go down each AM to start my day. When I wake up I drink 8oz of water 1st thing. I don't chug it but just drink it and then use mindful breathing for 5 min. I make sure I eat protein, veggies and good fats for breakfast. Then rest and do some more mindful breathing before I start my exercises. Practicing my balance, the wall and clock crawl. Simple leg lifts to standing on one leg and then the other. Breathing exercises that are mindful for sleep and stress. They even have a cooling breath for those hot flashes!! Simple but useful things like hand and toe curls and using a stress ball. I really think this will be so helpful in just my new daily morning and evening routine. (or whenever I feel like it) At the end there is a fatigue assessment test to take and I have to admit on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst I would say I'm at a good 5 at the moment. Everything just feels right!! I know over time I will work myself up and get stronger and just the effort is the payoff! I think I have started to find that new balance and just had to share!! My mind is so at peace right now and I don't feel all jittery like I have to go clean something lol. I just feel good!!

Well my motivations Call me nana and grandma. If I didn’t stop I won’t be here for all the major milestones in their lives. My oldest started 7th grade this year and the youngest just turned a year old last month. Now to motivate their papa to do the same.

Lol - yeah we're cool. Just bugging ya. There will be a late charge of 2 meat pies though 😉

drunk in bed alone yay

Operation Meat Pies is still going. We have been at it since 12:00 noon today. I haven't counted them yet but this is a picture of half of them. We probably might have the last tray baked by 10:00 pm. We always had fun doing this with the grand kids when they were small but today has been pure joy. My grand daughter is a full fledged adult know. It is so much fun talking the adult subjects with her and her outlook on life. I am so proud of her. This kid really has her head on straight. Her Uncle stopped in to sample the pies and take some home. I have never had so many laughs listening to them talk. This is what makes me so proud of my quit. I now feel I will be around to enjoy more years of this.

That looks sketchy as hell. I'm thinking cereal killer! Sunglasses? Come on - it's not even that sunny and that bike looks modded all to hell to. Supercharged for quick get away when the cops show up. I would be hiding under my bed if I were you 😆

New article on vaping illness and the numbers are up. This I truly hope helps towards more research and regulation. And yes Wayne I agree that numbers could be related to more young people vape. https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/17/health/vaping-lung-disease-states/index.html

NOPE

I love the way you meet everything head on and throw yourself into researching, learning, and doing all you can to get yourself in the best physical and mental shape for this battle, and I have no doubt you will beat this every step of the way. So glad you have peace on mind and can relax today -- some days that's the best medicine of all. After I read your post, I went and filled my water glass, so thanks for the reminder to keep up this simple healthful habit.🥤 Wishing you a great relaxing and recharging weekend, with some fun thrown in.

Desperate Dan likes pies too ...

Hey @jillar these people Louisiana Crawfish Company will send you Famous Natchitoches (nack a dish) Meat Pies Not as good a Linda makes, I bet but, real good.

He was supposed to quit with me. He can go all weekend without smoking. He doesn’t smoke around me. His kids really want him to quit. But I know he has to be ready to quit.

Nope not today!

You are well on your way to a life long quit Diane. My wife quit probably 10 years before me. She never really put it in my face but when I was ready myself to quit her example showed me it was possible so her quit had great value to me. Hopefully the same will be true for your hubby and maybe he will see the light before I did?

I didn't want to wheeze anymore I didn't want to stink anymore I didn't want to waste my money anymore I didn't want to waste my time anymore I didn't want to be a slave anymore My Dad smoked 4 packs a day for over 40 years and died at the age of 56. When I realized I was closing in on 50, I had to stop. I told my girlfriend (and myself) when I quit that I would never smoke again. That's all the motivation I need.

NOPE!

NOPE!

NOPE...

Nope!

Father died from tobacco related issues. My quitting was a final gift to his memory. Later, I realized the gift came back to me as well. Smoking would desecrate my father's memorial and that ain't happening.

should we make up LIES for @Linda Thomas ?

G’day NOPE to start the day

I just saw a news article about that on tv. I'm sure there's a lot more yet to be seen illnesses coming from vaping 😞

@Linda Thomas wins the big chicken dinner. #1 tonsils taken out in Maryland, not NY, 1970 #2 tubes tied CA 1985 #3 emergency appendix, Dublin Ireland, on holiday 1966 (morning apres operation, the nuns made you get up, walk to door and kneel while the priest rushed by throwing holy water around, this was the start of my church rebellion, I was 11)

NOPE

Samson doesn’t smoke!

Thanks again everyone for all your support and encouragement it really makes all the difference in the world. Coming here and reading everyone’s stories, pledging nope every day which I know makes me accountable. Lord knows I need it. And let’s face it, if you never smoked you just don’t understand.
