November 27, 20169 yr Hi everyone, I wanted to introduce you to the newest addition to my family and the love of my life -- Finnigan Eli. He was born on November 20th at 11:22 a.m., weighing in at 8 pounds, 12.6 ounces. After being in labour for 30 hours, he finally made his grand entrance. He was rushed off to the NICU because he was covered in meconium and they were worried he had inhaled some. But nope, he was perfectly fine! The delivery was a breeze and only took 35 minutes. He was sunny side up, so they did have to intervene after I had pushed his head out. His shoulders got stuck too, but honestly, I barely felt anything. It was really just a blur and I was so focused on meeting him. Shortly after his delivery, I started feeling lightheaded. My nurse (who was amazing) noticed that my BP had dropped significantly and my heart rate was elevated. Turns out I was hemorrhaging. I had a massive postpartum hemorrhage that they were fortunately able to stop. It was a terrifying experience. I had to get two blood transfusions after the fact to up my hymoglobin levels and I am now on iron supplements. I was also diagnosed with postpartum pre-eclampsia and am now on a lovely cocktail of high blood pressure medications until it completely stabilizes. It's been a rough week and I wasn't sure I was going to survive it. I'm very fortunate to have a happy, healthy baby boy though. He's doing great. We are still getting the hang of things at home, but he's amazing. I never thought I could love someone as much as I do him. I could honestly stare at him all day and not get bored!

And I'm glad to hear you were well cared for and are now on the mend. Pfft. You only get these few early moments to sit and stare so just do it! Thank you for sharing! November 27, 20169 yr Quit breeding. go for a walk or something. Really taking a risk with a dad that ugly and a redhead. You might get stuck with one that never leaves the house. Congrats. You look happy Ps Look into birth control if your going to keep bumping naked parts.

Sorry you had such a rough time. :( But honestly, once you gaze into that little one's eyes, all is forgotten. Take these early months to enjoy the little guy. He's so precious!
