There is no harm in wanting to smoke a cigarette. Addiction and wanting go hand-in-hand. There is all kinds of harm that comes from actually smoking a cigarette. Thankfully, you didn't do that. You observed the one incontrovertible rule for a successful quit: DON'T SMOKE! There is nothing to feel embarrassed about. You should feel proud of yourself.

Doreen...mon cheri. Mi amigo. Partner in crime and all-around damn fine lady. It is an honor to celebrate your anniversary with you. My ride here on the Quit Train would not have been the same without you sitting beside me...not even close. From simple talk of banjo music and jokes about sodomy our friendship really bloomed from there. I'm lucky to have met you and grateful that we've remained friends. Congratulations on seven years of freedom and thanks for everything you do here.

Nope. Take care of your immune system and your immune system will take care of you.

I've been getting in a bit of lifting here and there and the occasional bit of cardio from time-to-time. Time to get back to a set program. I'll be lifting in the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning. I spend my mornings with my baby daughter now. Back to basics workout that should fit the schedule nicely. Monday and Thursday: Squat, Overhead Press, Bench Press, and Sled Pushes. Tuesday and Friday: Deadlift, High Boy Rows, Farmer's Walk, and Sled Pulls.

Astronauts Bob and Doug made a safe return from the Space Station. Not to be confused with this Bob and Doug...

Top-shelf quit you've got going there Andy. Good job.

Trail running. When I was a smoker, the only time I would consider running was if I was being chased by a hungry bear or an angry woman. Now, I go out in the woods and run for the fun of it. Well...not right now. With a month old baby, I can't be out dicking around in the woods all day. But...I have every intention of getting back out on the trails in the Fall.

Whatever you choose to call 'em, a few weeks of consternation and agitation in return for a lifetime of freedom is one of the best deals going.

Sugar Britches doesn't trust me to handle bathtime with Maddie by myself. She thinks I'll just play around and use bathtime as an excuse to introduce Maddie to whitewater fun. I mean...I could show Maddie the basics of the eskimo roll in that little bath seat we bought for her, but it'll have to wait. The wife's way is technically correct, but my way is a lot more fun. And back to the music. Here's a feel good sing-a-long that I break out when I'm just chilling out with the girl...

The revised lyrics are still a work in progress, but this is a changing time favorite. Drop a load of Maddie, and, and, aaaand, you put your poop right in here.

A feeding time favorite. I just change the lyrics around a bit so it's less about moonshine and more about drinking milk... A little ditty for when we go for a walk... There have been a couple of nights when things just were not going to suit the little gal. This one comes to mind in those occasions...

I will learn a few lullabies in due time. For now, I'm sticking with songs I already know by heart. I'm not much of a singer, but my daughter only turned five weeks old today...she is not a harsh critic. Here are a few selections, join in if you like. Early in the mornings, I get Maddie fed and ready for the day. We sit on the back deck and watch the sun come up. There's a song for that... And continuing the theme of happenings in the sky, I sing this one to my little "sunny day"...
