  1. I'll throw my estimated 47,335 cigarettes on the fire. Good riddance! The lovely and talented Sugar Britches has commented a few times that she can't believe I ever smoked. In retrospect, I can't believe how much I used to smoke.
  2. Your body begins the healing process the moment you quit smoking. There are no guarantees but you can improve your odds by taking positive action. If you're stuck in a hole, the first thing you do is stop digging. Yep. Life's just better without cigarettes.
  3. Get well soon Catlover. The doctor will see you now... I typically enjoy the sound of thunder. Not so much when it wakes my little girl up and scares the bejeezus out of her. The little gal really voiced her displeasure over that one.
  4. I like "The Freedom Force" but I didn't cast a vote. I figured the 2020 quitters should choose their own name. I was going to campaign for 2016 to be remembered as "The Year of Boo" but that seemed a bit grandiose even for me.
  5. Welcome aboard the Quit Train Mick. Congratulations on quitting smoking. Day by day, brick by brick...that's how you build a quit that is built to last.
  6. I'm looking for the "none more black" setting on my page.
  7. Gotta go with Thin Lizzy on that one. This is where I would typically post my favorite Thin Lizzy song "Cowboy Song", but for some reason I can't post videos tonight.
  8. One Kitty Wells classic, two great covers. Which is better? Depends on the kind of mood your in.
  9. My avatar is made up of contrasting black and white. And who's more positive and beloved around here than me?
  10. Bring on the barter economy... Funny...I don't remember seeing him at any of our meetings.
  11. Good job Up In Smoke.
  12. Quitting smoking is the main thing. I've quoted it before and I'll quote it again...
  13. These kids with their yeah, yeah, yeah music...I didn't understand a word she said!
  14. I expect the scholarship offers to start coming in any day now. The little gal is a smart one. I was holding her the other night and watching "Jeopardy." She was trying really hard to talk...like she knew every answer. She didn't phrase her answers in the form of a question, but she's only seven weeks old so we'll give her a pass on that.
  15. Looks good. It's a bold look. Really grabbed my attention when I checked in today. Put a racing stripe and some chrome on this bad boy and everybody will know when the Train rolls into town.
  16. I also hate to see Friday the 13th on the calendar. I've never had particularly bad luck on Friday the 13th, but that silly voice in my head says: look at the date...better watch your ass out there. I would be remiss if I mentioned Friday the 13th and didn't post this old gem...again.
  17. Pondering my own inconsistencies and contradictions. I think superstitious beliefs are silly and irrational. That being said, I had a debate with a guy earlier today about whether it was good luck or bad luck to pick up a penny that is laying heads down. He said it's good luck to pick up a penny. I've heard that if the penny is heads up it's good luck, heads down it's bad luck. I just hope the voices in my head get on the same page at some point.
  18. Good call Helen. Freedom tastes much better than a cigarette.
  19. Present and accounted for. The goat abides.
  20. Apologizing in advance. I was hungry. The chili was good. And now I feel that unmistakable rumble setting in.
  21. Good job Steven.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
