  3. I've been demonising it in my head for the last 4 and a bit months. Pitying smokers and seeing how hopelessly addicted they are. You take a step back and see it for what it is. I've had smokers say to me "I'm gonna pack in soon, yeah I think I'll do it after my holiday." Stuff like that. They see you have packed in and think they can just do it by snapping their fingers. Then you look at them and they're trying to cram in every ciggie they can, when they can. It's a hopeless and fruitless addiction. You gain nothing from it and lose everything. Health, wealth and relationships all badly affected.

  10. One day you simply accept the fact that you aren't going to smoke again. The mental struggle will fall away and you will be free. Come back and tell us when this happens for you, it's magic.

  17. @robin0212 Girl. I cried. I cried and cried. I had to switch pillows out so many times. I would get up and walk the backside of my property. Alone. Tears streaming down. I would stand in the shower for prolonged periods. Tears streaming down. Just crying. It got better. I got better. I still cry over things and sometimes over nothing. I’m a crier. Who knew? It draws attention. But it’s better than being noticed because of my smoking. Anything is better than that.

  18. I pointed it out to a guy stocking shelves nearby. He just said; oh, ground beef goes that way when it's been out for a couple of days but when you mix it up, it'll go back to looking normal again. Right then I knew there was no point in further comment from me!

  19. So yeah; I like to save a bit of $$ when I can, given the price of groceries these days but it was a hard pass on savings when looking at some medium ground beef recently at the store!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
