Just got back from donating blood. As a person who is at least 28 days from getting COVID-19 and now fully recovered, I am eligible for donating plasma that researchers will test on people who are critically ill. Would be great if it helps....fingers crossed.11 points

@Doreensfree, thank you so much, and yes it is amazing to see these wishes, and I'm only deferring my celebration to when all this ends. I'm sure we all will have loads to be thankful for once this is over. So using my birthday wish to ask for this to be done and over with, soon. @Sunshine59 thank you so much for your wishes. @Irene Thanks a bunch6 points

logging down aftermath as on day 12?? or so, not counting really. : craves - none logged in my conscious (off topic i know - but in the movie 'the skeleton key' there is this line that you can use to strengthen your quit - the movie is about 'hoodoo' - like 'voodoo' but the difference is this as stated in the movie is - ''hoodoo can only affect you if you believe in it''- i use that to the hilt, lol) physical discomfort - none that i can honestly find worth mentioning body is on a high in a sense after the quit - in an true elevated 'high'. i smell better, i breathe better, i feel better, i am better. fear of re-lapse: no worries on that front. too much at stake to do something foolish like re-lapse now. maybe in another world, another time, another life - i would have re-lapsed. not now, not ever, not for - forever...and a day. any significant physical changes: 1. feel less hungry post quit (used to keep munching between meals but post quit i have stopped that) eat meals on time and i eat well. just do not feel the need to keep munching. 2. feel unusually thirsty - drinking water qty consumed has increased by nearly 4/5 times a day as compared to pre-quit. 3. no negativity - during or after quit. quit has been painless and without any traces of any self doubt. no more do i even think in terms of holding or protecting the quit. a smoker who gave up smoking protects a quit. i am a non smoker - period. 4. no cough at all in the last 24 hrs and throat feels fine. nothing else for now.4 points

Hello Niklaus, Welcome to the Quit Train. So glad you are here at a young age. QUIT NOW! you will never regret it. Being recently quit myself, I find that if I brush, floss or rinse after eating (or all three) once the taste of food is out of my mouth the weird feeling/craving goes away quickly. Irritability and concentration problem management....post on these boards lots, be kind and firm with yourself - you will be withdrawing from an addiction , so breath and let the grumpy and short attention span just be....come here and complain or rant. These things will pass, then sporadically appear again, as they do in life. Sazerac is a wealth of solid information, as are many of the other people, I suggest checking out their links and reading suggestions. Can't say enough how smart you are to be quitting NOW. You got this. Welcome aboard...fun group of people here.4 points

Hi everyone! Another cool thing: No more waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I thought I was getting an OA bladder but now I think the real culprit was either nicotine withdrawal or bladder irritation from nicotine. Cool to be done with that! 75 days and keepin on!!! Stay safe and healthy all!3 points

A great book! He uses logic to bust us out of the nicotine spell, kinda like rational-emotive therapy. I found it very helpful in changing how I viewed my relationship to cigarettes. Helped me deepen my resolve to quit.2 points

Your need for water could be just because you are thirsty. Smoking hid so many things our bodies needed. I would light a smoke instead of have lunch. Light a smoke instead of having a glass of water. Light a smoke instead of listening to my body or, light up a smoke instead of dealing with a situation. Now, you are able to remember yourself, remember your body and listen to its needs. Here's whats going on, you fabulous nicotine free creature, you.2 points

Hi! I am 22 years old and have been smoking for 2.5 years on and off. Now I'm down to 10 lights per day and am planning to quit. How can I manage the psychological cravings and the weird feeling I get after eating if I don't smoke? Also, how can I manage irritability and concentration problems during this period? Thanks in advance.2 points

Drinking fruit juice whenever you can is a nice activity if you do not have diabetes . Many people have successfully quit here by continuously talking about their everyday problems related to withdrawal All the problems will go away if you keep fighting the issues for at least a week . Also do not use NRT gums as it has big withdrawal issues too , i learned that a bit later in the quitting process . Please be a bit strict , you can quit2 points
