Open Heart Surgery

Featured Replies

Well since I've gotten insurance & a Nurse Practiner instead of that useless idiot dr, I've been getting tests run & yesterday when I saw my heart dr he told me I have to have open heart surgery before christmas. Someone can correct my spelling but its Aortic Stenous, basically when I was 5 I had rhuematic fever so that valve got some bad germs & now almost 55 yrs later its caught up with me, the good news is this is a slow time at work & the building closes for 2 wks for the holidays so hopefully I won't lose out on much money & the up side is I'll quit being SOB & not so damn tired then once healed I can be fitted for my new teeth & get my cataracts removed. So I won;t be around much till maybe Jan. So please try not to worry & have a great holiday season.

Wow. That sounds both positive and scary Beth.

I agree Beth, I see a PA most of the time...they are more down to earth than the doctor's.  Sorry to hear about the surgeries, your health is the most important thing though.  Wishing you a speedy recovery :)

Take care of yourself and take time to heal after your surgery...do not push yourself too hard after for a bit.

Oh Beth. I am so happy that you are finally receiving the medical care that you needed but I am so sad that you need to have surgery. I wish you the speediest and best recovery. We will be thinking of you!

Beth, sending lots of prayers for your surgery and speedy recovery!

Wow, Beth, you really have some big plans for yourself, don't you??!! I can imagine how scary these surgeries will be but it will be wonderful when you finally feel GOOD and have energy and eyesight and everything! I will be praying for you to have an easy time of it and a very rapid recovery. Please do keep us posted on your progress whenever you can.

Thoughts and prayers to you. (((Beth)))

I'll know more Dec. 8 when they put that tube down my throat to check my heart valves & as I call it "rotor router" my arteries in my heart so they can figure out if I need ByPass surgery too besides a new aortic valve. Got some good news about my job-they are glad I'm getting patched up & for my future operations (my cataract surgeries) & getting teeth. Hopefully this means they see it like I do-getting past problems fixed so I'll be feeling yrs younger to continue my job. Thankyou everyone once again for the concern & prayers.  I figure I should be feeling tip top & ready for spring & riding my bike & walking more.
