August 27, 20188 yr Good morning fellow NOPErs. I hope you all have a lovely smoke free day. Today, down under, we celebrate Meals On Wheels day. So to all the volunteers, and there are over 75,000 of you who cook the meals, and deliver them to our elderly we say thank you. The cost of 1 year of meals is the same as 1 day in hospital so even the gift of your time to give some old coots the independence to stay at home is a gift you are also giving to the rest of society too. For those who don't know the meals on wheels delivery ladies and gents don't just drop of a meal they do a welfare check and also give a daily social contact to elderly clients who are often housebound, isolated and alone.
