I have days and I can't tell if my quit is aging like a fine wine with strong notes of currant and under tones of citrus or a hefty blue cheese that can clear a room 🤷...but I still love it and I know you do too❤️ So...I guess what I'm saying is I can come fart on your quit or get you drunk...your choice 😅

I wonder if thats got anything to do with it. Maybe taking a moment today to intently destroy any leftover romantizing. 💪 Edited October 3, 20205 yr by MLMR

When I realised how strong that craving was, my mind immediately started reciting all the downsides of smoking. Counter brainwashing. I was raised so well here ...👌 Your humor. Please come, eat cheese and drink with me ok?

I bet they are both very sorry and angry with themselves deep down ...and are very envious of you just now ... Remember my saying ...It's ok to wobble ,just don't fall over ...this was given to me by a wise elder ,and has stuck with me since ... Cheese and a drink ...OH !!!...I think there will be a few of us up for that ...!!!!
December 24, 20205 yr Author Wow, I just realised this will be my third smokefree christmas!😊 ... and I just love love love not worrying about smoking anymore. There have been days, even months where quitting was the Most Important Thing Ever and I felt like I would be dragging that quit with me for the rest of my life... and now I hardly ever think of it. Its been quite the ride though. Im clearly not one of those 'One day I just quit and that was that' people. Oh, I've condemned myself for the struggle, for the sos-ing, for the anxiety. And what I found here was a brilliant combination of wise words, comforting and definitely the sober kick-in-the-butts that made it so much more doable. Bottomline: take care of yourself, dont give up, embrace the suck, enjoy and exaggerate the good moments, hold on to whatever it is that fuells your fire and outhumor your fears. Cheers! ♥️ Edited December 24, 20205 yr by MLMR

April 15, 20215 yr Author Sh*t sh*tty f*cky f*ck sig, I am NOT going to smoke you! Not after two years and almost 8 months!! Cry a million tears and then just rest and get back to your two feet, for things could be so much worse. This will pass. You were here before. Tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow.... is a new day.
April 15, 20215 yr @MLMR...Sweetheart .... It will pass....deep breaths ....we are here for you .... I know you will not smoke .... Stay close till it passes .....❤️
April 15, 20215 yr You've got this MLMR. All the crummy things in life still happen whether you are smoking or not. Smoking just adds another problem. You are so strong and have had the most beautiful quit journey. Just breath sweetie. This too shall pass.
April 15, 20215 yr I'm hoping you're already feeling better MLMR, crazy how those craves can pop up out of the blue but you got this! xoxo
April 17, 20215 yr Stress is going to happen, no matter what. Smoking is not a step in solving it. Hope you're feeling better. Keep the quit, my friend.
June 1, 20215 yr Author Shoot - forgot to report back at my previous post.. Whoops, sorry! No smoking to confess though, ha. 2 years, 9 months and 9 days, and counting. Sometimes thoughts about it sneak up on me, nothing too bad, just a firm reminder to stay vigilant. A picture of my soon-to-be-3-year-aniversary-present to myself: shoezzz. 🥳 Edited June 1, 20215 yr by MLMR
June 1, 20215 yr @MLMR Hi! I’m a relative newbie here. I’ve read through your in your face, honest quit thread and I think that you are amazing! So inspirational and I do hope to see you on here celebrating that three year quit!!! Sweet boots!!! 🤗
June 2, 20215 yr @MLMR I'd have thought 3-year anniversary = 3 pairs of shoes. Very little time to decide on the other 2 pairs.
June 7, 20215 yr Author Straight to the point: I smoked 1,5 packs since saturday. There's no point in getting into reasons, because smoking knows no reasons. I lit up, it was an ultimate stupidity, end of story. So. Day nr. 1 again. (Not one for 'why dont you just continue counting'. It doesnt make sense. And trust me, my addict brain would love that, plotting for the next screw up already.) Day one it is. Grmbll. P.s. please dont try this at home. It s*cks and involves way more shame than Im willing to admit.
June 7, 20215 yr Aww man, so sorry to read this MLMR you were so close to three years 😞 i wish you would have let us help you keep your quit but I guess if you're hell bent on smoking nothing will stop you. Glad you've decided to quit again right away. Stick close and use your toolbox.....

They are going to be so pissed when they realise they read 27 pages to see you smoked. Maybe you should change the title or start a new thread. Good Luck with your new quit

This should serve as a reminder to everyone that addicts can never let our guard down and we as addicts are always just one away from a pack a day and reading MLMR's last post on this thread is proof of that..... I will continue to suggest newbies read this thread in its entirety so that they will stay forever vigilant..... Btw @Lilley, how's your quit going?
June 8, 20215 yr Well, @MLMR - that was hard to read! Likely not as hard as it was to post!! I hope you return to quitting. It is your life & your recovery... grab the reins again and take charge!! im pretty amazed I remembered what mlmr stands for since half the time I can’t remember where I put my phone.
June 8, 20215 yr @MLMR sorry and sad to hear. Glad that you're back at it. No boots for you this year. Failing your way to success Jack Ma, Jeff Bezos and recently Elon Musk (in a different context no doubt but I believe the idea still applies - learn from it to improve and succeed).
