  5. Very stressful and sad when our parents/in-laws become ones needing our full attention. Life coming round full circle. My thoughts are with you catlover. Just remember: a cigarette won't change any of the hardships you're dealing with. All it will do is reignite your addiction.
  6. ButterKuP present
  7. Welcome Ela. I find that November quitters are the most well adjusted (as well as good-looking) people on the board. Happy to have you aboard.

  14. Since I’ve quit, I’ve used my savings on 2 Hawaiian vacations, a new sofa, and an additional $100 per pay period contribution to my 401k. And although that’s all fantastic, it’s a distant second to the amazing health benefits I’ve realized. Talk about a win/win.

  16. I seem to remember that headaches began about a month after I quit and lasted maybe 3 weeks. The good news is that all side effects eventually disappeared and the positive benefits of restorative health began to far outshine any temporary annoyances. Keep strong and focused Roopy. Better days lie ahead.

  19. The worst symptom in the early part of my quit was the constant feeling of a knot in my stomach. I thought it was something that would never go away. But no matter how intense it got I just told it to _u_k off. It was puny compared to my determination. Pledging and meaning NOPE on a daily basis was how I coped. The knot eventually got weaker and weaker and finally just withered away. Now I feel better than ever. Really! It's time to stop worrying about the negative effects and think about the benefits. Start your new life now Kris. You'll be so glad you did.
  20. Congrats GITW. Keep up the good work.

  22. Congratulations jimmy. You two have a lot to celebrate!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
