  20. Prior to quitting for good, I made several attempts to quit by vaping. I really think that I was vaping more than smoking and probably consuming more nicotine that way. I got really bad headaches from vaping so much and eventually just went back to smoking. Based on that personal experience, I just think vaping is not a good way to quit. As others said, if cold turkey seems too tough, talk to a doctor about about different NRT options.
  21. Welcome, Catchingup. I have the occasional weak thought of smoking a cigarette but I wouldn't call it an urge - just the occasional small thought about what it would be like to smoke a cigarette again. Then I think about the horrible taste and the horrible feeling of having thrown away a hard fought quit. That's all I need to stay smoke free. Never take another puff.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
