How absolutely heartbreaking, Doreen. As loved as you are from afar, I can imagine that having you in his life and by his side every day made Tony a very rich man. I hope that gives you peace and allows the good memories to surface soon, as difficult as it is now.3 points

Congratulations Kdad, You are two thirds of the way to that sought after 1 Year Smoke free milestone today. 8 months in now and you should be really enjoying the benefits of being a non smoker. Better health, fatter wallet and most of all, freedom from having your life ruled by a nicotine addiction. Now THAT'S something to celebrate1 point

My wee little nicotine receptors were always deeply gratified when the first hit of nicotine hit my lungs. Same thing as "enjoyed"? Dunno. Love this.1 point

@reciprocity there was a video that went viral of a four year old and then a 3 year old smoking (both from Indonesia). Teenagers make their own choices but it broke my heart to see those babies.1 point

The part I find disturbing is that hey are promoting the lie we all buy into, that smoking calms you in a tense situation. This is the major stumbling block for many people quitting. Not understanding the difference between nicotine addiction stress and life stress. Cigarettes only solve one kind of stress and it's NOT life stress!1 point

I think it's a fictional TV show for made for you entertainment....or not. If that bothers you definitely don't watch Mad Men.1 point

Awww Solo we need to be patient. 8 weeks is barely enough time for a broken leg to heal so a lifelong smoking habit is definitely not going to be sunny and rosy this quickly. I come here for inspiration BUT I also come here to know that others find this as hard as me. I let the golden oldies be the inspirations so that I can get on with being the "woe is me" you talk about. You're probably not depressed - you're just pissed off with how hard this actually is. Your rainbow will come just like all those before you.1 point
