Well my awesome POS husband announced that he doesn't want to be married anymore and I've had anxiety about it all week 😞

What kind of a man leaves his wife of twenty years in a pandemic?

.............

Ohhh, @jillar! I feel for you....went through this myself in 2008...when the ex-DH sprung it on me after 20 years together. 😟

Gosh that is a huge revelation, Jillar. I'm so sorry to hear it! Sounds like he's on an ego trip and you're left to fend for yourself. After 20 years you have the right to some continuity in life, particularly considering your illness, the pandemic, and all the circumstances. If he wants to go, let him figure out how. Don't make it easy on him. It's possibly the pandemic! Make him wait, take counseling, do a try out separation period. Divorce is final. Oh what a MF thing to pull just right now. Don't let him have it easy. It might be the pandemic. Hugs to you lady...

Oh Jillar I am so sorry to hear this. You are one strong lady, may not feel that right now but deep down its there. Reach out to friends and your train family we are all here for you any time. Hang in there!!🤗🤗

Hugs to you.🤗🤗

@Rozuki, have you thanked your ex for divorcing you and allowing you to meet that great guy you have now?! @Angeleek, I'm definitely not going to make it easy for him. I told him Friday evening that there was no way I could still live together with him after divorce. And to at least hold off until I can get the vaccine because I'll need to see a lawyer and look for a place, etc. so now he's back to hating on me which is fine because I'm liking having that king size bed to myself. I have my cat on one side and dog on the other and we're sleeping pretty good 😂 (I laugh because when he went to sleep in the other room a couple weeks before this he put on this big production about "how this is how it's going to be" and I was like "O.K." 😂)

How stupid does he think I am that I would continue to do everything official for his business and the household. I mean really, the jerk thinks instead of giving me alimony that I'll set him up as an employer and he'll pay me to do his office work instead of alimony?! News flash, I don't need the extra headache!!!!!

And you're right @Linda, I'm not feeling too strong right now 😞

Oh Jillar, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. What an ass hole!!  But karma. Is a bitch. You hang tough girl. We could round up enough people on the train to come help kick his ass.

I have thanked God and the Universe many times over!!! 😉 I actually spoke to the ex-DH when I sold the house (by the way, I had it written in the divorce decree that I bought the house from him for the sum of $10.00 and would be responsible for mtg, then had the mtg modified (2% for the last 11 years!!!!) so I could afford it on my salary (just barely!). He asked me how much I sold it for....he knows how much the outstanding mtg is (a lot!!!) as both our names are still on it...my response to him "The  mtg will be paid off, the real estate office will get their commission and I will get more than enough to get to my next destination!"

Him: Where are you going?

Me: North Carolina

Him: You buying a place?

Me: Not yet, but my boyfriend built a house in Hendersonville 2 yrs ago, so I will live with him.

Him: You have a boyfriend??

Me: Yes, I do. He is a great guy that I have known since you left town 12 years ago.

Him: What does he do?

Me: He is retired....formerly in IT with the County. Now, he creates custom banjos and restores Gibson banjos and guitars in his workshop that he has at his house.

Him: Didn't you learn your lesson, Ro? You got involved with another musician after me? lol

Me: Yup..... I learned my lesson. He is nothing like you at all!

Him: (silence on the line)

Jillar,

just a thought......I have been through what you are going through. A wife of 26 years just wanted out. Without going into details, myself and our kids were devastated.....But as time went on.....it got a whole lot better. Kinda like quitting smoking. Sucks at first, but who is the smart one at the end?

I guess it wouldn't be that bad if I wasn't still on oxygen but because of this fvcking pandemic I haven't been able to get any pulmonary rehab. I still need his help with some things so I'm kinda freaking out about that and what happens if I get sick again.....

And the funniest part is he actually thinks that we can divorce and still live in the house together while I do all his business office work! Yea, nah.................

I'm sorry for what you're going through Jill but you know what?  You'll be better off without him.  I lived with a real loser a number of years ago and I was so down when we broke up.  I was crying on my mother's shoulder and she told me that the sun was shining on me, I just didn't realize it yet.  She was so, so right and I think the same is true for you.  Just have faith and try to keep your spirits up hun.

Damn.

He really has put you in a rough spot there Jill.  You don't deserve that kind of treatment.

Whatever you do, don't lose faith in yourself.  You're a good woman.  You'll come through this stronger than ever.

If we're getting a posse together...I'm in!

Hmmm, for months now he's barely talked to me and never nicely so I'm not sure what to make of the fact that first he said hello to me this morning and two he offered his help with my pond! THEN asked if I'd heard how our neighbor friend was doing!

I kinda feel like WTF?! 🤔

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't know if I should put this in the Curse It thread or the Coronavirus thread.  I am really mad so I guess I'll put it here.  Today I received a summons for jury duty.  The court house is not providing remote access.  You have to go in person.  The letter said that everyone has to wear a mask unless they have a medical excuse even though numerous medical experts have stated that there is no valid medical reason why someone couldn't wear a mask.  Even if everyone wears masks, I still wouldn't feel safe.  I have avoided being indoors with anyone for almost a year now and I don't want to throw all of that away when we're so close to getting vaccines.  What a crock of shit!!!  I wrote a letter asking to be excused.  We'll see what happens...

Boy Mona, I would be mad too.  My husband got called for jury duty but was able to get excused because he had knee replacement.  I will cross my fingers that you don't have to go.

I don't blame you one bit @Mona, my Dr isn't taking office visits for almost a year now and only does phone visits but wants me to go for a blood test and a mammogram. Uh-no not going for a mammogram until I get vaccinated so be happy with a blood test for now!

Stand your ground girl!

jillar, I am due for a mammogram and decided to wait.  I saw on the news that woman should wait at least four weeks after the vaccine to get their mammograms because it could cause swelling in the lymph nodes and give a false reading.  Since I may be called any moment for the shot, I am just going to wait.

Yeah, I had a doctor's appt in November that I rescheduled for May and if I'm not vaccinated by then, it wil be rescheduled again.  My contact lens prescription expired so I've been wearing glasses for quite some time now (which I hate).  I don't feel safe going to the eye doctor.  No dentist appointments for the last year either.  If my request to be excused is denied, I will pretend that I have extreme views so that they don't want me as a juror.  I have to protect myself.  Nobody else will.

@Mee, thanks for that info I had no idea about the vaccine affecting mammograms!

@Mona, if you know your prescription you can order them online. I got a new pair of prescription glasses about six months ago online and am really happy with them.

I know my prescription but it is expired.  Where I live, contact lens prescriptions are only good for two years and then you have to go to the eye doctor to get a new one, even if there are no changes.  Sounds like a money making thing to me but that's how it is.  I'm not sure if the same is true for prescription glasses but I have a ton of those and don't need any more.

Yes, thanks for that tip Mee.  I wasn't aware of that either.

Don't think they are even doing trials here in Canada since covid, at least not jury trials.

They're either extending bail periods or keeping them locked up depending on the crime involved.

I'd tell them to shove it!! They have no right to endanger anyone's health, even though they may think they have distancing measures and proper ventilation in hand.

If they still insist .... here's a wardrobe idea!

Our prisons and jails are releasing people early or not arresting them at all because of this virus @reciprocity. Worse still is that they're vaccinating the prisoners in my county and we under 65 and high risk have to wait 😠
