I've just had a guy ask me out!

He works in IT, so I'm a but concerned he's going to realise I'm not very clever. Anyhoo, apparently he's had the hots for me for years (knew me as the 'hot blonde on reception' for a long time) so I'm totally set up for being a huuuuuge disappointment.

So I've been digging for dirt on him (as you do) and it turns out hes not got kids but got divorced from his ex 2 years ago and is kinda the dad for her kids who he still sees every weekend or so. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but I think its good in that he cares but bad that there is an exwife who he still sees.

So we shall see how it goes... Tonight!

First date on a full moon :)

Have lots of fun and enjoy.

x

Girl you are too funny.....snooping on social media....lol

Don't think so much or over analyze ....just go with it and have an awesome time!

And definitely report back because one thing I am sure of...you will have a tale to tell us  :)

Have fun and tell us all about it!  Some of us who have been married for a while like to live vicariously through you.  ;)

Just be aware of the kid thing for now.  I wonder how long he was part of their lives - perhaps he does consider them as his adopted children, then that is good, but if he is just taking care of them to keep in contact with the ex, that isn't cool at all.  :)

snooping on social media....lol

wasn't doing that! Was just asking about.

I've just never really noticed him, he's not particularly stand out, not that he's not a bad looking guy, just not ever really spoken to him, but he was very cute and nervous when he asked me out today!

that's exactly my concern, need to find out what the deal is!

sometimes those are the best ones  :)

cute and nervous is good too

oh sarah just have fun!!  You have plenty of time to find out about him....enjoy and take it slow.  As long as you don't sleep with him before you find out more...what difference does it make???

Have fun and please do come back and tell us how it went!  ON a side note...caring for kids that are not your own is the sign of a good heart.

For the record, I've only slept with one guy since I quit smoking, and he was an ex!

lol....I wasn't implying!  I was just saying for a first date....who cares about kids, ex's, past relationships....as long as you aren't intimate..those things can wait.  Just enjoy the fun, the nervousness, the wonder...that's the best part of dating  :)

I can understand your concerns after married marvin, but not all guys are bad apples :)

enjoy hun, whoo hoo date night :)

Oooh exciting! Have fun :)

exactly!!  which is why i am an expert at this!  hahaha

i guess you missed my Van Halen post in songs because I was waiting for you to comment...lol

i have a handful of young single girls here at work doing the online dating thing...they stories they tell are hysterical!!  I think I should start writing some of it down.

Sarah, I hope you have a great time!  And quit putting yourself down, you seem quite clever to me.  Just because you don't know something doesn't mean you are not clever, it just means you have not learned it, yet!

Well that was kinda fun, went for a meal, couple of drinks, all good.

He was with his ex for 5 years, the kids are 6 and 8 years old so he's very much their dad they split because she had an affair, she's single again but he says he's not interested.

I don't know. He's nice, a bit quiet, and I can see him going back to his ex.

The flip side is I don't think I've ever had so many compliments in an evening.

Argh! Men!

He's nice  - GREAT!  Nothing worse than hanging out with mean people :)

a bit quiet -  AWESOME!  Imagine spending time with a blow-hard, disrespecting, dominating, know-it-all :)

and I can see him going back to his ex - Hmm,  be careful to not fabricate a storyline that may not be true.  I mean, how can you really know at this point?

The flip side is I don't think I've ever had so many compliments in an evening. - How nice!  He sounds like an in tuned and considerate man.

Sounds like a nice date!

I wish I had a date :(

Maybe you should try the online dating thing?  You're super fun!

My dates all end in marriage. Three dates in my life. Three wifes

If put in the position....I promised to never date again. Mrs said "was just going to use me for a little fun"
