  1. Jen, I'm pretty sure Jengel left the QT a while back. Not sure if we'll hear from him again, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading his goodbye post. I love that people are popping in and I hope others start responding soon. Like others have said, no judgment here... so please keep us updated. It doesn't matter if you're still quit or not!
  2. Agreed! It's so obvious that I'm busy too.
  3. I am afraid to ask how they did.
  4. Sorry, it was a joke. The men in my life tend not to listen to me
  5. Lol, I will forgive you because you're a man. :P
  6. And this one!
  7. No smoking for me today, thanks! NOPE.
  8. I saw Lindsey Stirling in concert last Saturday. She was fantastic. This is stuck in my head:
  9. - People who make me repeat myself because they weren't listening the first time. - When I hang out with someone and they spend the entire time texting and saying "uh huh" and "right" to everything I say. Twitch...
  10. Don't be upset about a craving. Anyone can get them, no matter how far along you are. I know it's frustrating, but at some point in your quit, they will pretty much disappear entirely. I'm done with cravings now and cigarettes repulse me, so trust me when I say that it does get better. All that matters is how you deal with them. You said you never would have smoked, so that's awesome! That's the kind of attitude you need to keep this your forever quit.
  11. 39.... wow. Far too young, but it really can happen to anyone. I was hearing something about a 16-year-old having a heartattack and dying fairly recently, so regardless of age, it CAN happen. Scary, but true.
  12. Oh goodness, this might be a long list. - People living beyond their means and then complaining about not having money or borrowing from others. - Bars/pubs/clubs. I am not a fan of crowds and I can drink for less at home or at a friend's place. - Liars. - Centipedes (why so many legs?!) - Hornets. - Answering phones. I have worked in way too many call centres. - People who try to talk to me while I'm reading or busy with something else. - People who are late. I am pretty much always early unless there's an emergency. I know people who keep me waiting for 30 minutes because they "needed to get ready." Twitch...

    Waiting

That's always how it goes. Pretty unfair! Thinking of you and Mrs. B. Hugs.
  14. Hey Melody: Good for you for saying NO and realizing there will be no benefits to having "just one." I'm really happy you didn't risk your quit to find out. I'll be honest... I have been hanging around a few friends who are smokers. I'm almost two years quit, but I still feel the pull of the cigarette. I don't want to smoke and I won't, but the desire is still there. I figure this will probably be something I'll deal with for the rest of my life, but I feel saying NOPE will get easier over the years.
  15. Thanks EB!
  16. I think you're at a year now, right Sharon? Omg, so excited for you! You are now officially an Old Pharte (or whatever they're calling it now). Brilliant job. Go you. :D :D
  17. I had steamed jasmine rice with stir-fried vegetables in a peanut sauce for my birthday dinner. Yum!
  18. You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. :)
  19. Hey Mason, Sorry to hear, but good for you for jumping back on the QuitTrain. You can do this! Remember we are here to help you, so reach out to us. :)
  20. Lol, sure Bakon, we'll go with that. You guys are so sweet! Thanks everyone. :)
  21. Aww, thanks guys! Cake for everyone. :D
  22. It's not something I like to admit, but I kept a half a pack of cigarettes for months after I quit. They're no longer kicking around.... I think I gave them to my mom (sigh). I think back then, I kept them around because I wasn't completely sold on my quit. I figured it would be temporary like the rest of them. Well, we saw how well that turned out. ;)
  23. Hey Brittany! Congrats on one week. :D That's awesome! Believe it or not, but eventually, you'll get to a point in your quit where you forget you even smoked. Keep that in mind throughout your quit journey! You're doing great. Keep it up, stay close to the board, and post as often as you'd like!
  24. Not going to smoke today. No way, no how! Who wants to join me?
  25. Lol, so cute! "The curtains of invisibility."

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
