  1. I LOVE hummus! It's one of my favourite go-to snacks. Yum. Glad you gave it a try Christa. :) Thanks for the recipe Aine -- I think I'll give it a go!
  2. This. Exactly Ross. Oh, and I avoided 3-hour long movies like the plague. No way, no how was I going without a smoke for 3 hours!
  3. Think healthy snacks... healthy snacks.
  4. Been thinking about her as well. Hopefully we'll hear from her soon. :)

    wow

Ouch Jimmy! Those are never any fun. I once chipped a tooth on a potato chip. Sigh, only me!
  6. I'll be there! I'll bring Sangria. :D
  7. I love not missing out on family/friend time. Whenever I was out with friends for example, I'd have to go outside constantly to get my fix. I'm so glad I can enjoy a day out without constantly worrying about my addiction. :)
  8. Thanks for the update Tiff. Glad you're still quit Amy. When you feel you're ready, I hope to hear from you! I believe strongly in you and know you are more than capable of keeping your quit. I understand, it can all be so overwhelming. Just know we're here when you need us. :) Thinking of you guys today/tonight/this morning (whatever)!
  9. It would be nice to hear from you IAmDoingIt. We're here to support you and help you every step of the way. :) I'm really hoping everything's okay. Please don't hesitate to post -- we'd love to hear from you again!
  10. Hey Gabby! Welcome to QT. :) Glad to have you here. You've come to the right place! Don't be afraid to reach out to us when you're struggling. Keep reading/educating yourself and post as often as you'd like!
  11. No smoking for me today. No way, no how. NOPE!
  12. Same here. We'd get nice spring weather one day and snow the next! Very long winter. Today is 29C though, so summer's finally here! Where have you traveled within Canada?
  13. Tragic. :( May he RIP. Far too young! He leaves behind quite the legacy.
  14. Ouch, poor kid! What a brave cat though. :) This is why I'm totally a cat person, lol. I know not all dogs are evil though.
  15. I got some money back after I filed my taxes. Usually I'd be jumping for joy because I could buy my cigarettes AND food, but now I'm just happy I can go shopping. I took some of the money and bought a laptop! My old one was horrible and wouldn't have worked for my schooling. It's nice to have that freedom, isn't it?
  16. Can't wait to see you back on the QT Jimmy! We've missed you. :)
  17. Ugh. I cringe thinking about it! I hate when I'm walking down the street and someone starts waving and like an idiot, I wave back! What's your favourite childhood memory?

    Soozie

   I have been wondering about Soozie as well. Hope everything's okay!
  19. What are you most afraid of?
  20. I'm also in Ontario Sandy! Nice to meet you. :) What part of Ontario are you in? What did you think about our winter this year? (Too long in my opinion!)
  21. I bit my tongue... and it also hurts! Woe is us Jenny. :(
  22. Sorry you're having a rough go Laura. :( But there will always be stress, regardless if you're a smoker or non-smoker. Smoking just gave us an excuse to walk away and avoid the situation. It did nothing to decrease the stress. Your inner junkie is lying to you. When you were finished smoking, the problem was still there. The more you disassociate yourself with smoking, the less you'll want to smoke whenever these stressful situations arise. Trust me when I tell you this is not a forever thing; you WILL eventually forget about smoking.
  23. Do you have any kids? If not, do you want any in the future?
  24. Do you have any siblings?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
