  1. Do you guys can for winter?
  2. We are all thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way. Sometimes days are just crap de la crap. The craziest part about it all...is that after a while-and it probably took me longer than others- that even the worst days that come along, you know-I mean flat out know- that smoking would not do a thing for you. So your mind stops going to cigarettes in the times you'd have previously ran for them.
  3. I have honestly found that staying close to ex smokers here has helped me stay the course. Everyone has responded here with one purpose, to help you find your sticky quit and be happy and healthy. In my heart I think that I was the most addicted smoker that ever lived. Probably a few others here that feel the same way. But in reality I think that blasted addiction grabs us all the same. Time has got to come one way or another where we quit. Some of us are lucky enough to do it on our own terms. We have your back! Don't be the 5 year closet smoker I was after my last failed quit attempt. It's a helluva lot of work, and it is detrimental to your own self worth. Plus smoking is just too friggin expensive.
  4. Lisa, you inspire me every single day. Very well done. You make quitting, and running, look good.
  5. Wiley! Love you quirky sense of humor. I am glad for you successes and thank you for always looking out for the rest of us. Val Kilmer as second best batman, next to you
  6. Big lunch. Most missing : River Phoenix or Jim Morrison
  7. Hahahha
  8. Totally normal! There are good days and bad days. You have to remember the bad days will pass. Just ride it out and pat yourself on the back that you have done brilliantly so far! Thoughts are not things, it's ok to not always be spot on. Just keep on keeping on.
  9. chrysalis, Rome was not built in a day. You have a lot on your plate, and you are doing just fantastic. I like to say I'm 'a work in progress.' Will we ever get exactly where we want to be? I'm not sure.
  10. Oh Bonnie I'm sorry to hear this. Sending positive vibes you and your daughter's way.
  11. Congrats tommy! Won't be long now.
  12. This is such good news! Many congrats to you .
  13. Great job Delta!! It was fun chatting with you the other day.
  14. 6 Weeks is awesome!! Well done. You should be very proud of yourself. :)
  15. Revenge is soooo addictive

  17. Oh Jackie. I'm so sorry.
  18. Ava...a very lovely character in the Dreg City series. Me in pic after I cut bangs this summer.
  19. I'll help with the search party. I'll bring cookies to draw them out.
  20. ((Nancy)) thank you.
  21. I KNEW there was a reason I liked you so much ;-) I think when the time comes, I would not be opposed to Botox. For now, stick with my SPF 120.
  22. Wiley, sorry for your loss. I think a lot of us have lost people to smoking and it's heart wrenching.
  23. Thank you S! Your post kinda got me choked up. I have dreams about her a lot, though we were not close. I was too young I think.
  24. One of the BEST rewards of not smoking is not smelling horrid. AE's "live" is what I have on today. :)
  25. My great aunt died in her late 50's I think. She was in a nursing home for several years before that. I remember the adults talking that the doctors said she would be ok if she quit smoking, but in serious trouble if she didn't. She would sit in the smoking section of the home, and then go back to her room and lay on the bed. Day in and day out. She seemed to me quite like someone who'd given up long before. So I'm almost 39 now. Not that friggin far from 50, which is around the time her health really went south I think. Like in one way or another, pretty much everyone in my fam has died from smokes, booze, or pills. Why in the heck I would have ever started smoking is beyond me. Rest her soul, I do not want to end up like that. It is just not worth it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
