  5. Hardly believe it's been a week. thanks for the support, resources, suggestions, and encouragement. Actually, yesterday I had a few pulls of craving at predictable times (after meals, late in the evening) and easily NOPE'd through. I really have no way to explain why this sticky quit is flowing along with grace and ease and I am ridiculously grateful. Yesterday was also the first day I woke up and my first thought was not of having a cigarette (wooo hooo!!!!). I actually snuggled in with my guy and the cats and enjoyed waking slowly. Truly can not recall a time when waking up was not an immediate dash for coffee and cigarette. What a waste of warm wake up opportunities. Glad everyday forth can be pleasant.

  7. Upper Mid West USA - Pretty much everything shut down, except gas, grocery and restaurants. Pretty sure restaurants and bars will close within 24 hours. Schools going to distance learning (online) after an 8 day (?) planning session with no school at all. Many closures coinciding with spring break. Lots of talk about it being for the remainder of the school year. We kind of have the Boo thing going on, so we're in take inventory mode. Concerned about my mom in the South Western desert. Hoping I can rent a motor home to go get her, if she decides she doesn't want to be in her snow bird residence. I'd really prefer to go get her right now, but, geez....it's not all about what I want. Stay safe folks. Be kind.

  15. Thank you., Sazerac. The warm welcome of QT folks is comforting and informative. Overall, I am surprised and deeply deeply grateful at the ease I am experiencing. Craves are short and gratefully NOPEing my way through. My head gives me the most doubt. Really love reading the threads of people's experiences and strategies .... laughing brings almost instant relief and connection to 'truth' for lack of a better/effective way to express. observations: I almost never remember my dreams, and have been remembering and having discomfiting dreams since I quit. yesterday I could taste every ingredient (as if each were being enunciated by a spelling bee contestant..lol) in one of my favorite comfort food dishes I have a short: attention span, fuse, laugh trigger and window for action am feeling ... more to say here, but short window for action. ha ha Enjoy the beauty of the day!
  16. Glad you're feeling the freedom.
  17. One and the same...all me. Kendra is a character from a book I admire. Had hoped to channel her spirit, presently I am not feeling the creative parts, so staying with given self perceptions. lol Celebrating taste and smell today. hurray. am feeling slow, slow , slow despite caffeine

  22. Hey Irene, Thanks for taking the risk to share. Walking the early days of freedom here, too. I am enjoying reading MLMR's Introsucktion thread, as well. Thanks to Sazerac for dropping it in my immediate "click" space. Glad you spoke up. Hope you (me, too) have the courage and sense to reach out, really before, if an s.o.s. event is upon us. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
