Ack!!! I know you get lots of snow up in Canada. This past winter we hardly had any here in NYC....maybe 2 inches the whole season. It was wonderful!!

Wet & humid today here as well but hey, we needed a good rain about now so I'm OK with that. Unsettled all weekend here but should get some nice sun parts of tomorrow. When ever I catch myself moping about because of the heat or humidity I remember the other season we have .... Suddenly, I'm more appreciative of the heat lol.

Yeah jumping in our pool during the summer is like jumping in a bowl of soup. Everywhere else, they try to keep the pool water warm, here we try to keep it cool.

Today I did a little work on the solid oak coffee table I'm refinishing. It was scratched and water damaged but I think I've been able to sand out all the damage so now it's just applying a few coats of stain + polyurethane finish to it then reassembling the legs and getting it from the garage to the living room. OMG, it's REALLY heavy! Here's a pic of part of the surface before I started: I already finished the matching end table that was also damaged in the same manner as the coffee table. It turned out really well The stain I'm using is more of a honey-brown stain. The color code was 'Golden Oak' on the stain I bought. The original stain was a darker brown. I think the new color is 'warmer'? I'm happy with it in any case.

I get it, my wife is Canadian eh. We have been watching the Government getting more tyrannical up there for a while, Vancouver is about as safe as Seattle or Portland now days.

My Grandfather, on my father's side, was a championship marksman with I believe if was called The Canadian Rifle Association. He won many awards in shooting competitions. Today in Canada, next to impossible to own a firearm legally. Semi automatic and automatic rifles all banned. Many hand guns as well banned. The criminals have illegal guns of course but so far, they're pretty much using them on each other

The humidity here in NYC has been absolutely horrible! For the past 2 weeks it feels like we are in a rainforest when outside. My husband and I fight about the air conditioning all the time, I like it very cold, he doesn't even like to have it on! I hate humidity and I do not like the heat. Give me the Autumn and I'm a happy girl.
