Oh noooo, Jillar!    So glad you're okay,  but still not a fun experience.  Not good when those big metal things run into each other.  I hope the adjuster gives you a fair deal and you can get some fancy new wheels soon.  Maybe something like this.

Jillar I'm glad you're ok - well not ok but ok. Hope you get back on the road soon. Now is definitely the time to treat yourself to a little massage or some retail therapy X x x

Thanks @Whispers, I'm feeling less sore today. Thank goodness I had that big old Acadia. I really think that's why I wasn't dinged up worse! @Lilly, that's a great idea but I have no way to get to either lol. Holding off on getting a rental car to see if insurance is going to fix or total my car. If it gets totaled than we'll just be buying a new car next week ? Hopefully they won't total it though!!!

Got the call while I was busy sopping up water from under the sink because our disposal bottom rusted out. Insurance totaled my car ? The guy was super sympathetic and hated that he had to do that on a car  that was still pretty much brand new. But because it was 12 years old and the extent of damage he had no choice ??? The only good out of this is that he did give me the highest amount possible because of it. It still smelled like a new car, I'm so sad.....

Done the flooded house and the totaled car, but never at the same time.   That sucks...my sympathies and I hope it turns out to be not too bad in the end.  So sorry about your car!!!

That sucks Jillar but I'm not surprised. Insurers tend to jump pretty quickly to the "write-off" option.

It does not take much to total a car anymore.  I see more cars on the road with duct tape because people can't afford to fix them.

I hope you find a nice new car to replace it with.  There is nothing like that new car smell.

Your luck has to change now.

Ok...so I always wanted to know, cos we don't have em here an ya see em on US shows....but where the fruck does the stuff go that ya put in the disposal? After its mushed??

Gosh I sure hope my luck changes. DH and I are still arguing about it, he can't get it through his head that there was nothing I could do to avoid her t boning me ?

You poor thing.  He should be grateful you are still here.  We are grateful you are okay.  Husband's and their priorities?

For real? On both counts...

1. Does hubby think you parked in the middle of the road and waited for her to hit you??? Frickin dumb arse men.

2. So does the disposal fully liquify it? How are your drains (sewers?) not clogged up with solid matter?

If your truck took a good shot its better off in the long run as the truck wont drive the same..

It grinds it up, and then it goes down the sewer to the water filtration plant, which treats and filters the water before it goes back into Lake Erie.  When  I was younger, the lake was really polluted.  My parents said we would be swimming with cigar fish.  They have cleaned it up now.

No jo the disposal doesn't liquify it. It just acts as a shredder for larger pieces of food that go down the drain. My plumber friends say never to put food down the disposal so we don't but sometimes little pieces drop down and we can turn the disposal on and it crunches it up into tiny pieces

We just get a sink... And the old shit going down our drains is anything you flush (which should just be paper an shit...and hair if it doesn't get caught in the grill things... Do you guys have compost heaps?

I should say that disposals are only installed on kitchen sinks. All our other plumbing is like yours probably. And yes lots of people have compost piled here. I don't but I don't have a garden which is what people use them for

Our dunnies are different too I think. Ours only have a tiny bit of water in the bottom, the water doesn't go round the wrong way and they all have to have a half flush button, it's the law now.

Now that is very interesting.  I think we need pictures Jo.  We bought one of those super flushers with little water and I hated it.  We finally replaced it because it always left streaks!

What is the idea of the half flush?  Hey, we could do a poll on the courtesy flush question.

We have that toilet.

Linda half flush is for number 1 and full flush for number 2 lol.

G,day

Still go to visit friends who live in the bush that have a “long drop” in the back yard.

A big hole in the ground with a little out house on the top.

Of Cause they have a flushing toilet in the house but it uses a good percentage of thier water a day if they let it.

The flushing one in the house has a little sign just to remind you to save water.

If it’s yellow let it mellow

If it’s brown flush it down
