January 24, 20197 yr I have writen about my wildlife refuge and the Ranch, how special they are to me. Got me to wondering what is other peoples Sanctuary Like? So please tell me Discribe that Place where Time stops and your soul is refreshed. Edited January 24, 20197 yr by Opah
January 24, 20197 yr I go to the poconos (PA), the pace is so much slower than NY and so relaxing. Nature is refreshing and many of us need the break from the concrete jungle (NY). Watching a black bear with her cubs is a great sight (from a distance). The lakes and water falls, ahhh.
January 24, 20197 yr Walking along a quiet beach, love the sound of the sea, and the birds, and the fresh air.....bliss.
January 24, 20197 yr It used to be the kitchen table at my grandma's but after she passed it was sold so...anywhere I can sit and hear the crash and roar of the ocean....preferably west coast Vic or just over the SA boarder...there needs to be brine in the air and the waves??. .. you need to be able to hear the waves before you see them...there is no other sound like the great Southern Ocean pounding into the coastline....it reminds you how insignificant you really are but Ina humbling way best place to just be sittin in the sand back to the cliffs hearing the crash and roar...add a decent thunderstorm... perfection.
January 25, 20197 yr When I get to meet up with my daughter...usually once a year..we have so much fun..we get to do stuff I wouldn't normally do ...
January 25, 20197 yr No particular place but in the RV, with the dogs and my husband, camping. Love relaxing around the campfire, meeting new people (most campers are so friendly) and the sound of the rain on the roof of the camper.
January 25, 20197 yr My sanctuary is definitely inside myself. I get there at my house, cooking up something delectable, working in the garden, listening to favorite music, sewing beautiful fabric, watching the Sun and the Moon pass over my little square of sky, a scolding from resident crows. Sitting on the tarmac flying to a new adventure. My nourishment is my work, painting/writing and appreciating the beautiful natural world.
January 25, 20197 yr G’day Ive just got out of hospital again... don’t ask I’m out and home! I got to go to the creek with little miss 4 and a 1/2 and big mister 7 from next door. Wow what a great place. Theres big pools of water full of bulrushes and little fish and cool tadpoles. There’s dragon flies and big grasshoppers and the sound of cicaders. The dried gum leaves and bark not only crunch underfoot but smell real great too. Even though it’s just down at the bottom of the street it’s a million miles away when you get caught in the moment. I hope to get invited again even though I did get in trouble for tracking mud in thier moms kitchen..... C
January 25, 20197 yr ^^^thanks for the happy childhood flashbacks, I so know that smell...glad ya home from hossy too...did ya teach your little tour guides to skip rocks?

My children had a neighbor like that and I know the time he spent with them added to the wonderful adults they became. They are in their 30's now and still have a special relationship with them. Hope you are feeling better.
January 26, 20197 yr A private campsite, a long sandy beach on the ocean, a non-motorized lake and a kayak, my bed. Fun topic!
January 26, 20197 yr The mountains. The Cumberland, Appalachian, and Blue Ridge ranges are my home turf playgrounds. However, I can hit the road and be quite content in any mountain range. Give me some winding trails, rivers that can be run in a canoe, climbable rock, and some good trout waters...paradise found.
January 27, 20197 yr Give me some winding trails, rivers that can be run in a canoe Thank you for the reminder Boo....yes squeezing into a canoe with me sitting in the front ... Between your legs ...what fun .. Making sure the pack lunches stay dry...I agree...Paradise !!!
