  1. while more than 600 000 are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke That's so sad and kind of scary!
  2. Being addicted makes people do crazy things! I remember trying to smoke outside in weather with 90-100 km winds, lol. I couldn't even light the damn thing, but oh how I tried!
  3. Love this post Markus! Agree with you 100%.
  4. 7 days is great! Good work Juan. :D At least Hell Week is over now.
  5. Yes Evelyn, it would be good to hear from you again. :) Keep us updated. I'm hoping all is okay!
  6. No smoking for me! NOPE.
  7. What Julie said! Even our killer birds are polite.
  8. Did this move while being very sick with what I think may be strep throat.
  9. I helped friends move today. It took 8 hours! Does that count? I can barely move, lol.
  10. 12:46 a.m. Hoping to sleep soon. I am feeling very exhausted/sore.
  11. Pop chips are nummy. We ordered pizza because we helped friends move for 8 hours!

    I hate it......

LOL! Insulation for the winter. That's what I call it. ;)
  13. Kind of jealous to be honest, lol. How about you all come to Canada? :P Or maybe I'll just take a trip to the UK! Hehe.
  14. Nicely put! I have posted here more than anywhere else, lol. It's not a toxic environment here at all -- I love it. :)
  15. Lol, not pathetic hun. Just addicted. I used to do the same thing. It was so embarrassing for me to approach people and ask. I'm actually kind of shy in person and I don't really like to hassle anyone.
  16. Tiff, I thought there was a poll for this in Socializing? I could be wrong. I remember seeing one over there, I think.
  17. Disgusting, right? Ugh. Me too Julie. I rolled pennies sometimes and took them to the bank.
  18. Oh god LB, so many! I also remember desperately fishing through all of my ashtrays to find a cigarette while I was out. I would smoke right down to the filter without an inch to spare! One time, I accidentally dropped a cigarette in coffee and I STILL smoked it. Whenever I accidentally lit the filter end of a cigarette, I'd cut off the burnt bit and smoke it. Talk about desperation. Addiction is sad. :(
  19. Awesome job Melody! I understand that fear all too well. When I started hanging around smokers again (I avoided them for a while), it wasn't so bad. Actually, the smell repulsed me, which helped! I think once you feel secure in your quit, the cravings/urges aren't as intense or as often. You knew there was no way you were going to smoke, which is a fantastic mindset to have when hanging around smokers.
  20. That was the worst Jengelsnew! God, I remember that taste... gag. When I used to smoke in a car or vehicle of any kind, we'd throw the ashes into a water bottle or can. No more accidentally drinking from that bottle/can! GAG.
  21. I'm a cold turkey. :) Been in the freezer for over a year and a half. ;)
  22. Hey Jackie, Congrats on not caving! I know how difficult it is to resist that "just one" thought that crosses our minds when we're alone. This shows how truly committed you are to your quit and how essential it is to have a good support system. So proud of you! :) You did wonderfully.
  23. Glad to hear you're doing good Carol! Agreed with Pippa -- we're here to help every step of the way. :) Not. One. Puff. Ever!
  24. Hey Amy, Wondering how your quit is going today? Check in. :) Always good to hear from you! I think you're doing brilliantly! You have such a great attitude.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
