  1. Action, I think it's smelled, but I could be wrong... lol. This is where one of my family members would pipe in and say, "You took journalism! How do you not know this?" It's good to treat yourself! We work our butts off with our quits, so why not? :)
  2. I am cracking up over here! This is SO me. I watched all three seasons of Dance Academy in about a week and all of Once Upon A Time in about two weeks. I love marathoning shows, but am so sad when I finish one.
  3. Not a cat, but ABOUT cats:
  4. Good! Much healthier than smoking. :)
  5. My mom used to laugh so hard at that commercial!
  6. Yes! A little bit onion-y though. Probably cut back on that next time and use a sweeter dressing for the beans.
  7. I will keep my Old Pharte title obviously. :) But I like the new titles too.
  8. Agreed!
  9. Awesome job Amy! Day 1 is over. Time to breathe. I know it's daunting, but you CAN and WILL do this. You have all the tools at your disposal. Good on you for posting and keeping us updated. :)
  10. With the attitude you've been displaying IAmDoingIt, you've got this in the bag! :) The feeling of forgetting you ever smoked is such a great feeling and so completely doable, as long as you stick with your quit!
  11. Also, congrats to everyone!
  12. I quit August 2012... so I'm here? If that counts, lol.
  13. Yes, facing triggers head-on is good. There are limits for some people, I think. If you're early on in your quit and you know drinking always leads to smoking, I would suggest maybe waiting a bit. Otherwise, you must face your triggers to create new normals for yourself. Changing your patterns is part of the quit process. Good post!
  14. Mmm, Sangria.
  15. Yay Rain/Suz! I remember you on QSMB. :) Not sure we chatted much, but I have always enjoyed your posts. Welcome to QT. Congrats on 5 years btw! That's freaking amazing/admirable.
  16. So sorry to hear about your friend. :( Broke my heart that he expressed how he truly felt to you before dying. This is why I quit, in hopes that I won't put people through the same kind of suffering. I've seen people I love suffer and it's heartbreaking. So scary, but so real and unfortunate. This thing happens all the time, yet it doesn't usually phase smokers. They turn a blind eye, thinking, "Oh well, I'm fine." Not true.
  17. Oooh, I like this idea!
  18. Sounds like a good night to me!
  19. Here is the end result. Definitely room for improvement, but not a bad first try!
  20. This is the roast I'm making for dinner tonight. I really hope it turns out well. The apartment smells amazing, so fingers crossed. :) Thinking about making a bean salad as a side. I figure those two would go well together? Who knows? I'm just winging it!
  21. I think I might have to start going at this rate.
  22. There is such a thing as MANties... just throwing that out there. For inquiring minds, Google it. :P
  23. I ran out of likes the other day, lol. Never done that before!
  24. Here's to hoping my pork roast turns out. First time making one! TGFCP (Thank God for crock pots)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
